OPENING KICKS

? Colgate plays for its ninth Patriot League championship when the Raiders take on Georgetown Saturday in Washington.

? Colgate and Lehigh are tied for the top spot with 4-1 conference records; Lafayette at 3-2 still can climb into a three-way tie, but the Leopards need to win at Lehigh and have Colgate lose at Georgetown.

? This year has the potential to be the first shared crown in the Patriot League since 2006, when it was Lafayette and Lehigh. Other shared titles occurred in 1999 (Colgate-Lehigh), 2002 (Fordham-Colgate), 2004 (Lafayette-Lehigh) and 2005 (Colgate-Lafayette).

THE COLGATE 13

Thirteen notes of interest on today's game against the Hoyas

?Colgate plays for a Patriot League championship Saturday at Georgetown. The Raiders are tied with Lehigh at 4-1 in conference play, with Lafayette third at 3-2. Since the bitter loss to Lehigh back on Oct. 7, Colgate has won four straight games and outscored the opposition 150-22, or by an average of 37? to 5?.

?The Raiders lead the series against Georgetown by a 13-1 margin and have won the last five meetings. That includes victories of 17-13 and 34-14 in their two most recent trips to Washington. Georgetown's lone victory in the series was six years ago in D.C. by a 40-17 score.

?Three of Colgate's eight Patriot League championships have been shared: 1999 with Lehigh, 2002 with Fordham and 2005 with Lafayette (Raiders earned the NCAA automatic bid in 1999 and 2005). The five Raider solo titles came in 1997, 2003, 2008, 2012 and 2015.

?Grant Breneman is nominated for the STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award Watch List, presented to the national freshman of the year. So far this year, Breneman has completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 1,457 yards and 15 touchdowns against just four interceptions.
