Back:

Avoid:

o Sustained flexion (forward, lateral, backward) o Repetitive trunk movement o Heavy lifting, and prolonged weight bearing

which includes sitting, standing and walking.

Neck:

Avoid:

o Repetitive neck movement o Above shoulder and overhead activity-

repetitive o Prolonged neck flexion/hyperextension

Shoulder:

Avoid:

o Repetitive (R/L) shoulder movement (flexion, extension, rotation) against resistance

o Heavy lifting o Above shoulder activity, and o Repetitive use of the (R/L) upper extremity

against resistance

Upper Extremity: Avoid:

(Including elbow and hand)

o Repetitive movement of the involved joint against resistance

o For the hand and wrist, this should also include wrist repetitive gripping

o Constant vibration (wrist, hand)

Lower Extremity: Avoid

(Including hip, knee, ankle, and foot resistance)

o Repetitive movement of the involved joint against resistance

o Prolonged weight bearing o Rough ground walking o Low level sustained activity and climbing o Repetitive kneeling, squatting (knee)
