The Vice-President is the second highest ranking elected officer of the Association and at the conclusion of the President’s term of office, automatically succeeds to the office of President-Elect, and then President.

Duties, Responsibilities and Authority

In the absence of incapacity of the President and President-Elect, performs the duties and exercises the powers of the President.

Works closely with the current President, President-Elect and Executive Officer to learn the duties of the Presidency to prepare to assume that office.

Serves as member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and as an ex officio member of other committees as assigned.

Represents the Association with other associations, industry groups or other organizations as requested by the President.

Performs such other duties and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned by the President or Board of Directors.

Actively supports and participates in the program and activities of the association. Works to increase member/leader involvement.

Builder Director – 2 Positions elected each year

Associate Director – 2 Positions elected each year

The Board of Directors is the policy-making body of the association and is responsible for the business affairs of the corporation.

Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities

Approves operating and capital budgets.

Represents the membership of the association.

Understands issues facing the organization.

Ensures proper use of assets.

Establishes short- and long-range goals.

Establishes the policies governing the association.

Approves new members.

Expels and disciplines members.

Fulfills fiduciary responsibility to the membership.

Approves the long range and strategic plan of the association.

Assures legal compliance with the bylaws of the association.

Typical Job Description -- Committee Chair

Committee Chairs are needed each year for the Home Show, Golf Outing, Parade of Homes, Membership Committee, Education Committee (Student Build, Student Scholarships, Member Education), and Silent Auction (Building A Better Wisconsin)

The Committee Chair directs the members and activities of the committee to ensure accomplishment of goals and objectives as directed by the President.

Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities

Assists in the development of the committee objectives.

Informs committee members of the objectives and their expected individual contributions and their responsibilities.

Assists the President by making recommendations on committee member appointments.

Prepares meeting agendas and assures the distribution of relevant information to all members prior to meetings.

Presides over committee meetings to ensure adherence to the major issues and purposes of the committee.

Assists the association leaders in identifying potential leaders among the committee members.

Encourages active participation by committee members in the activities of the association.

Prepares committee status reports for the Board of Directors.

Under the direction of the committee chair, committee members participate in all committee activities and work toward the fulfillment of the committee objectives.

Attends all meetings of the committee.

Carries out individual assignments that are made by the committee chair.

Review all relevant material prior to the committee meetings.

Participates in committee discussions and deliberations and voices objective opinions on committee issues and topics.

Understand the specific responsibilities of the committee.

Has an awareness of the association’s practices, policies and procedures as it pertains to the committee’s goals and objectives.
