Dr. Robb's Protect The Pets™

Putting pets before profit and improving animal health care

Bruno lay lifeless in front of his crying owner. “Why? I just went to the vet! How could this happen?, “ she repeatedly asked.

The cat ended up in emergency care for heart failure after being grossly misdiagnosed and mistreated for a respiratory infection. His owner spent $180.00 dollars for the careless treatment, and $1,200.00 at the emergency clinic trying to save his life.

This is a true story and brief example of why veterinarian, Dr. John Robb, established Protect the Pets™.

Protect the Pets™ is a national movement of veterinary professionals and pet owners dedicated to improving the standard and quality of care of pets, and that value pets over profits. Its mission is to raise awareness about the realities of unsafe veterinary medicine, educate the public, and inspire veterinarians to practice according to the values that led them to the profession in the first place.

Founded in 2006, Protect the Pets™ was created by Dr. Robb who witnessed profitability influence the decisions of a veterinary practices and compromise the health and safety of animals. During his twenty years practicing veterinary medicine, he has experienced first hand the unspoken rules and realities negatively impacting animal health care, including over-vaccination, malpractice, favoritism among drug companies, and insufficient regulatory oversight and accountability measures.
