'Are We Doing All God Says

"Are We Doing All God Says?"

1 Samuel 15:1-35

INTRO. In the body of Christ God has given many spiritual gifts. And no gift, no matter how insignificant we think it is, is unimportant. These talents and abilities that God has to each believer, by His Spirit, are different with each individual, but all are necessary.

On top of all the talents and abilities that God has given us, He also has given each believer an individual task to perform. I can’t perform your task, and you can't perform mine. But God, in His wisdom, has given to each believer the talent and ability to perform his task.

In our text, in 1 Samuel 15, God gave Saul a task to perform. Saul completed the task God sent him to do, but not all. He left part undone. Sound familiar? Haven't we, in our Christian life, failed to do something God has told us to do? I have, and if you're honest with God and yourself, you'll say you have too.

Our desire should be, as Christ's, in John 4:34, "My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." That word "finish" there means to complete. And carries with it the idea, to bring to the very end. Christ couldn't die on the Cross until He had finished the work God had sent Him to do.

Each believer's desire should be to see all that God has told him to do completed. So I ask you this question, "Are you doing all God says?" Lets look at Saul and how he handled the task God sent him to do.

1:9...

CLOSING: We all have a task to perform for the LORD. Are we doing all He

says? Are you doing all He says?

There is an old song that we don't seem to sing much in our

Churches, which says, “We'll work till Jesus comes!” Let us pray

we will finish the work He has set us to do!
