Find your EFC by determining where it falls between `EFC (from) and EFC (to)' on the reverse page.

PELL PELL Grant is usually divided equally between fall and spring semesters. A PELL of $6,195 for a full-time

student would be disbursed as $3,098 in the fall semester and $3,097 in the spring. If you attend half-time (68 credits), you receive approximately 50% as much PELL. If you attend three-quarter time (9-11 credits), you receive approximately 75% as much PELL. (See notes on summer PELL awards below). Students who use Pell during Summer 19 may be eligible for Year Round Pell (Pell2) during Spring 20 if enrolled at least half-time (6 financial aid eligible credits). Students with a bachelor's degree are ineligible for PELL. Students who have already received 12 semesters of full time Pell or 600% Lifetime Eligibility Units (LEU's) will be ineligible.

SEOG Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (SEOG) is awarded to high-need PELL recipients as long as

the College has SEOG funds. Due to limited SEOG allocations, awarding of SEOG may be limited to students who have attempted less than 54 credit hours. SEOG is disbursed one-half in the fall semester and one-half in the spring semester. If you attend less than half-time (1-5 credits), you receive twenty-five percent as much SEOG. If you attend half-time (6-8 credits), you receive fifty percent as much SEOG. If you attend threequarter time (9-11 credits), you receive seventy-five percent as much SEOG. Students with a bachelor's degree are ineligible for SEOG.

COMA/VGAP Commonwealth Award (COMA) and Virginia Guaranteed Assistance Program (VGAP or VGAP 2) is a state

grant and is available only to Virginia domiciled residents. You must attend full time (at least 12 credits) each semester to receive a VGAP award. If you attend half-time (6-8 credits), you generally receive fifty percent as much COMA. If you attend three-quarter time (9-11 credits), you generally receive seventy-five percent as much COMA. Students in the EFC range of 5577 to 9000 will receive $0 COMA if enrolled half-time (6-8 credits). Students with a bachelor's degree are also eligible for COMA. Students must be classified as domiciled in-state residents to receive COMA/VGAP. (See note below on summer COMA). VGAP 2 (second year student) awards vary from $1,200 to $2,300.

PTAP Part Time Tuition Assistance Program (PTAP) is a state grant and is available only to Virginia domiciled

residents who are enrolled in a semester for 1 to 8 credits. Awards are made each term based on availability of funds and are coordinated with the amount of other aid received during that term.

Summer COMA + PELL If you enroll for summer 19 you will be awarded PELL and COMA as indicated in the last two columns. The

COMA for summer is in addition to any COMA you are eligible to receive in the fall and spring. However, PELL received during the summer WILL reduce the amount of PELL you are eligible to receive in the spring, especially if you attend full time. Students who use 100% of Pell during summer/fall will be considered for additional COMA funds during Spring 20 (based on available funding and pre-registration for spring classes by December 10th) or PELL2 (if criteria is met). Any additional COMA awards may not be posted until after fall 19 grades are posted.
