My dominant learning style is reflective, sensing, verbal and global. Reflective learner, who prefer to work alone, likes to think quietly first before doing something actively. The sensing learner likes to learn facts and be patient with details and good at memorizing facts. Verbal learners understand better through writing and speaking explanations. The global learner tends to absorb information without seeing connections and then suddenly understanding it. Based on this exploration of information, when faced with conflict, I am most apt to My personal conflict style for the calm score is collaborating. The collaborating conflict style is more related to problem solving and put both person’s own views and other views in consideration. The collaborating conflict style can recognize tensions in relationship in order to find the nuptial agreements. My personal conflict style for storm scores is accommodating conflict style, which means giving in person’s own views and accept other’s view. This style considers relationship first and tries to keep peace. Based on this assessment tool, my personality style is My personality style is ESTJ that means extroverted, sensing, thinking and judging. This personality is very responsible that has much in touch with the external environment. There are 8.7% of ESTJ personality style in total of population. Based on the self assessment tool above, my personality style is __extroverted_ , sensing, thinking, and judging__In the article “Critical Thinking is more than Problem Solving”, the author explained the difference between critical thinking and problem solving. The author believed critical thinking must be viewed more than a problem-solving method, because critical thinkers should make sure practice critically although there are no exist of problems. The problem solving is focus on looking for the solutions that able to solve the problem specifically; however, critical thinking is a set of principles that can be learned through nursing experience and knowledge. As a professional nurse, we need to think as a nurse by applying critical thinking in our nursing care all the time in order to ensure safety in nursing care. Through critical thinking, we able to apply skillful reasoning into nursing practice. Using clinical thinking to make clinical decisions is very important to ensure quality of patient care. In the article “Bridging the Generation Gaps”, author explained five generation’s views on life, culture, and work for healthcare practitioners to work effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals. The five generations includes veterans that were born from 1922-1946, baby boomers that were born from 1946-1964, generation X that was born from 1964-1980, generation Y that was born from 1980-1995, and generation Z that was born from 1995-2012. The author separated five generations based on the age and described the key events, cultural influences and core work values for each generation. The author analysis the similarity and difference between each generations. However, author also described people from same generation might react different. I believed nursing care is a team work. There are many nurses that from different age group and generations will be work in the same group. The article will helps us to understand different nurses from different generations in order to help us to learn how to get along with other nurses.
