It also requires advanced knowledge of the provisioning requirements for the private cellular network connection on mobile broadband devices. This position will be responsible for discerning the work scope requirements of the department to provide a secure mobile broadband signal and type of device.24.Indicate specifically how the position’s duties and responsibilities have changed since the position was last reviewed.In addition to maintaining the department’s cellular mobile broadband devices, this position provides support and trains department members on advanced provisioning technology to address securing the WI-FI signal of their device. It is also responsible for the procurement and distribution of the Cradlepoint router modems for work site detachments and emergency command vehicles. It serves as a subject matter expert in mobile broadband use and solutions to the department. 25.What is the function of the work area and how does this position fit into that function?The Communications Section resides within the Administrative Services Bureau. It is responsible for the oversight and management of the department’s radio and mobile data computer inventory, training for all MPSCS system users, management of the department’s cellular phones and wireless devices, land line phone systems, and data line needs. The Wireless and Landline Unit is a complex work area responsible for the wireless services and equipment utilized throughout the MSP. This position is fundamental in supporting the function of the work area. 26.In your opinion, what are the minimum education and experience qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of this position.EDUCATION:Possession of a high school diploma or a GED certificate.EXPERIENCE:One year of experience performing advanced secretarial or supervisory administrative support activites equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.ORThree years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced level in state service. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Ability to provide excellent customer service, ability to work with computers and software programs. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Excellent planning, marketing and organizational skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of mobile device operation systems and the ability to relay this information to vendors/department members. In addition, possess the ability to troubleshoot the cause of malfunction. Knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, precedents and terminology used in the work.
