My Research Philosophy and InterestsGaurav Bansal, Ph.D.Research is an integral part of my academic experience. It enhances my knowledge base, is informed by my teaching and service, and informs them as well. I am interested in pursuing original research with theoretical and methodological rigor and a strong sense of relevance in social and practical implications. I believe that the problems facing the world today are complex, and it would be na?ve to continue examining them with the singular approach. I want to investigate research questions using multiple theoretical lenses and multiple methodological perspectives – integrating design science, behavioral and organizational perspectives to solve some of the real-world issues. That would be rigorous and also relevant.I am passionate about using different theoretical lenses and methodological tools in examining my research questions. My broad research interests reflect an interdisciplinary theme ranging from technical analysis, privacy and security concerns, security compliance to trust rebuilding, sustainability, mindfulness, culture, aging, gender, and ethics. I am currently examining research questions focused on different themes. One of my research streams focuses on social media aspects such as social media mindfulness, social media habit, and the spread of fake news on social media. My second research stream focuses on offering advice on how organizations can rebuild their violated trust after a data breach. My third research stream focuses on examining the role of leadership and top management and ethical issues in IS. My fourth research stream is focused on phishing and cybersecurity policy compliance. In my research, I try to pitch practical, theoretical, and social implications so that the research findings could have a broader impact.Gaurav Bansal ................
