Yes8.Funding Requested (up to ?250k)? 235000 – approximate.9.Co-funding provided (if any) and source10.Please summarise your Innovation Challenge Fund research project in one sentence. 350 character limitSuper Aggregator App for Electric Vehicle (EV) Users and EV Charging Stations (SAVE) would facilitate:A user to access variety of EV services (taxis, rental cars and bikes, local pick-up delivery, office commute bus, shared rides, etc.), and Allow an EV driver to access Charging Network (public, private, swap, kerb-side, malls, night-time parking-cum charging, etc.).11.Please describe your project further. What problem does your pilot seek to address? Who are the potential beneficiaries and other stakeholders? What are the inputs and activities, and what are the outputs? What does success look like after 12 months of funded research? How will your solution reach the market place? 2500 character limitProblem:At present a user has to subscribe to apps from different aggregators. Also individual drivers not attached to an aggregator don’t get the flow of demand. The same is the problem with Charging Infra, where each aggregator has its own app.Solution:SAVE App, operated by City Administrator or a Government Unit, would connect with all service providers and charging infra network thus making seamless access to EV Service Providers and variety of Charging Infra Operators. On this APP, you would find individual independent EV drivers, EV Owners and Charging Infra Owners as also aggregators. The APP would facilitate- (i) discovery of available EVs/Charging Infra, (ii) estimate costs, (iii) book the resource, and (iv) pay seamlessly.Beneficiaries and Stakeholders:EV users, EV Drivers, Fleet and Logistics Aggregators, Charging Infra Owners/Operators.Inputs:Location, availability and costs of EVs/ Charging Infra; queuesOutputs:Discovery of availability, cost estimates, bookings and payments.Success Criteria:Functional App, with all EV service providers, Charging Infra in a city (most likely Nagpur or Mumbai) on boarded, and users being able to use.Go to Market Strategy:We anticipate that anchoring by a Government Agency and the usefulness of the APP would attract customers. The anchor could digitally promote the APP to various stakeholders. 12.What is ‘technological’ about your proposed solution and why might this be appropriate to the challenge areas?1000 character limitSAVE APP will have AI, Big Data Analytics and Digital components, to allow real time discovery of resources, booking of resources, billing and payment features along with rating of the resource used. 13.Is your proposed solution a response to the impacts of COVID-19, or an effort to contain the pandemic? If so, please explain. 1000 character limit SAVE APP may have features such as categorization of EV resources as Covid-19 Compliant as well as information such as Number of Travellers in vehicle which may relate to Covid-19 Norms. 14.Does your proposed solution contribute to combatting climate change or promoting a greener planet? If so, please explain. 1000 character limitEVs are an important part of India’s Green Growth Strategy. EVs direct result in reduced GHG emissions due to their high and improving energy efficiency, even when one accounts for grid emissions (models for India already prove this).The SAVE APP will make demand for EVs and Charging Infra of all types available to all users- thus facilitating demand flow. It will be particularly useful to those services providers (e.g. individual auto owners or taxis, which are not part of an aggregator). This will have help scale up use of EVs.The SAVE APP will allow sharing of Trips and Vehicles, reducing emissions.15.How is your proposal relevant to the development challenges of India? 1000 character limitEVs are expected to contribute in many ways to India’s developmentSaving of fuels which are imported- energy security and savings of foreign exchange.Support to Renewable Integration (as it will facilitate adjust demand to power generation curves, V2G grid support services etc).Less pollution in cities- will improve liveability and economic activity.Such APPs would support scale up of EV eco-system. 16.What consideration have you made of gender in developing your concept? Could your project address gender inequality or other kinds of inequality? 1000 character limitThe APP may have a categorization of resource operators (EVs, Service Providers, Charging Infra Operators), about the gender of operator. That will help the user to chose female service providers and correct the balance, if the gender matters to them.
