?Dear Positive Support Family,??As we start a new year we want to address the issue of safety when it comes to our students.? The Positive Supports Academy (PSA) team is committed daily to ensuring that students are safe while attending our program. This includes walking through a metal detector before entering the building. Cell phones are collected and stored in a safe, secure location which decreases student distraction in the learning environment.???At PSA, we serve middle and high school students. To safely and appropriately accommodate both grade levels, we have established different hallways to facilitate learning and transitioning for high school and middle school. High school and middle school students are also released from classes at different times with constant supervision.? At no time are our middle school students allowed in the high school hallways. Restrooms are locked at all times and students are escorted to the restroom. Only one student is allowed in the restroom at any given time and the entry door is propped open while they are in the restroom.???At the end of the school day, we release our middle school students prior to the high school students and escort them to their buses after their cell phones are returned.? We are constantly monitoring and reviewing practices and procedures to strengthen our safety plans.??If you have questions, concerns or suggestions related to your student’s safety during the school day, please do not hesitate to contact Dr.Jackson or Mr.Fields directly. We appreciate your partnership and support as we work together collaboratively to ensure a safe environment for all students to learn to their fullest potential.????????right-165100000 ................
