How to create your MySQL Server on the Ecom Server

Open a web browser and navigate to the WIU home page.

On the home page, use the web tools menu option on the top left of the page to get to the E-mail / Guava page

On the E-mail / Guava page, click on the link to go to the Guava login page

On the Guava page, login using your Ecom User ID and password (same one you use to login to web mail). (If you don’t know your Ecom User ID, or don’t know your password, contact a lab assistant for assistance)

Once logged in, on the main Guava screen you will have menu options (icons) and a status display.

Note: Your Account Status screen will show your MySQL as Disabled

To create your server, click on the Servers icon.

On the next screen use the “gear” icon to access the MySQL configuration tools.

On the MySQL configuration tools page use the “Install New Server” button to create your MySQL server.

The system will create your server, display the results page, and send an e-mail to your Western mail account with your server port number and root password.

Do not lose this email, as you will need the server port and root password to connect to your MySQL server for your assignments.
