April 6-10I don’t want to overwhelm us by doing too much this week, so I’m trying to keep it simple. Let’s use this week to get used to working from home and communicating through email and Flipgrid.Look at the “Distance Learning” page on my teacher website. This will give you the daily schedule. Go to the Cole Canyon website, click on the “Teachers” tab, click on my name, then click on the “Distance Learning” tab on the left side of the page.Try out new computer programs. This week, try out some things that you haven’t used before. Many of you have never used Imagine Learning, Math 180, iReady, or Moby Max. Use some of your computer time this week to try out these programs and see if you like them.Print out pages for this week.Click on the “Class Files” tab on my teacher website. There you will find the DLR, spelling, Math Review, Math Fluency, and Reading Record. Print them out for the week. You can do these pages at your own pace throughout the week. You can do a little each day, one whole page per day, or whatever works for you. You should be reading for 200 minutes per week (NOT just 80 anymore!), but you can break that up however you want. You can read for 40 minutes per day, 50 minutes four times a week, 100 minutes twice a week, or whatever works best for your schedule. Write in your Reading Record on the days that you choose to do your reading.Finish Patty Reed’s Doll and take the Reading Counts quiz. You can read this on your own if you have your book, read along with me, or just listen as I read Chapters 16-19 on my YouTube videos. Take the quiz when you finish the book.Post any questions to “Questions 4/6-4/10” topic on our Flipgrid.I created a new topic on our Flipgrid for this week. I’ll leave up the “Say Hello” topic where you can post videos about whatever you like, but this new topic is just for questions you may have about this week’s work. Record any questions about Math Review, DLR, or anything else (make sure to show me what it is you’re asking about), and I will send you a video reply.Watch “Story Time with Miss Towne” on our Flipgrid. Listen to Miss Towne read aloud one of her favorite books, then leave a video response showing one of YOUR favorite books. ................
