Through stories, music, dance, drumming and ritual, we honor the ageless triumph of the human spirit on this sacred night. There will be no social

gathering due to campus construction, however festive attire is still encouraged! Children welcome!

The Ritual begins promptly at 6:30 PM.

Donation Requested: Adults $10.00 Children 12 years old and younger: $5.00 There is no charge for infants.

Saturday, December 17, 2011. The Ritual begins promptly at 6:30. Plan on being here no later than 6:00PM

People should arrive no later than 6pm to allow for parking. Seating is first come, first serve. There is no "intermission." The ritual ends at 8:00 pm. Our traditional social gathering before and after will not happen this year due to campus construction (no hot cider this year.)

Parking:

For directions to the church, call (619) 298-9978 and press #3. Parking is FREE for Solstice attendees. When the church lot is full, overflow parking is directed to UCSD's multi-level parking structure you will need a parking coupon from the church parking lot attendant. Remember, it takes several minutes to walk to the Meeting House from the UCSD parking structure. Carpooling is encouraged. Public street parking is available, but limited. Avoid a parking headache, plan to arrive EARLY!

The Event:

The ritual is appropriate for all ages and all spiritual paths. Children are welcome. This is not a "show" but a sacred ritual / worship event which has elements of liturgical theater such as singing, dancing, storytelling, poetry, and drumming.

Dress:

People are encouraged to wear festive Solstice attire! That means anything from capes and costumes to traditional holiday dress up wear.

First UU Church is a smoke free environment.
