1. ORGANISING AUTHORITY

1.1. The Organising Authority for this championship is the Derwent Sailing Squadron (DSS)

2. RULES

2.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

2.2. Appendix T will apply to this regatta amended so that an Arbitrator may form part of a subsequent Protest Committee.

2.3. International Dragon Class Rule 13.30 (Crew Weight) will not apply to this regatta.

2.4. SB20 Class Rule C.5.1 is deleted and replaced with the safety equipment list in the SB20 Equipment Audit Form

3. ELIGIBILITY

3.1. The Regatta is open to SB20 & Dragon Class boats affiliated with the SB20 Class Association and International Dragon Association. Skippers and Crews shall be members of an Australian Sailing affiliated Club.

3.2. At least one person on each boat must be a financial member of their State SB20 Class Association or International Dragon Association.

3.3. Each boat shall hold a current measurement Certificate and a current valid Inventory of Required and Optional Equipment for their respective Class.

3.4. Boats shall comply with AS Special Regulations Part 1, Category 7.

4. ENTRIES

4.1. Entry shall be made by completing an on-line entry. The on-line entry can be found at: Derwent Sailing Squadron website or at the following link

4.2. Series entry fee will be $120.

6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

6.1. The Sailing Instructions will be available at DSS at registration on Saturday 22nd June, 2019 or on the DSS Website from close of business Friday 21st June, 2019

7. COURSES

7.1. Courses will be windward/leeward as described in the sailing instructions.

8. SCORING

8.1. Three races are required to be completed to constitute a series. There will be a maximum of eight races. 8.2. When fewer than six races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race

scores. 8.3. When six to eight races have been completed, a boat's score shall be the total of her race scores

excluding her worst score.

9. RACING AREA

9.1. The racing area will be the River Derwent from the Tasman Bridge to a line drawn from Cartwright's Point to Trywork Point.

10. WET REGATTA

10.1. Boats shall be launched by 10:00 on 22 June, 2019 and shall remain in the water for the duration of the regatta.

11. PRIZES

Will be presented at discretion of the Tasmanian International Dragon Association (TIDA) and Tasmanian SB20 Class Association but will include, o the Perpetual T.J. Bennison Memorial Trophy for the best performed Dragon Class boat on Line Honours. o The Perpetual SB20 Mid-Winter Championship Trophy for the best performed SB20 boat on Line Honours. o and other trophies at the discretion of TIDA and the SB20 Association.

12. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

12.1. All those participating in the Tasmanian Winter Solstice Championship do so entirely at their own risk and responsibility. ATTENTION is drawn to RRS 4 (Decision to Race).

12.2. The Derwent Sailing Squadron Inc, its executives, board, servants and agents and all other parties involved with the conduct and organisation of the series disclaim any and every responsibility for loss, damage, injury, death or inconvenience that might occur to persons or property, both ashore and/or afloat, as a consequence of participation in the races covered by this Notice of Race and by the Sailing Instructions.

13. INSURANCE

13.1. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10,000,000.
