A tea party leader in Mississippi rues the day that women won the right to vote. Women, she argues, are just too emotionally unstable and untrustworthy for the franchise. Yes, you read that right: The person making the case against women's suffrage is Central Mississippi Tea Party () President Janis Lane, herself a beneficiary of the 19th Amendment.

I was so aghast at this statement that I wanted to do a little checking from other sources and found that the statement was made back in June. I am therefore disappointed that more attention was not placed on it earlier, and I was hoping to find someone holding her accountable to substantiate the comment about "mean, hateful women". I, for one, cast my vote for the candidates I believe have the best interest of family at heart. I do not know what is mean and hateful about that.

There are few things so sad as a self-hating woman. All she can do is go to hang out with a bunch of men who will cheer her on as she makes nasty comments about how much other women suck and try to convince them ()and herself) that she is somehow an exception to womanliness and therefore unfeminine, a sort of freak, thus ensuring she will never have many female friends, only be surrounded by men who hate women, constantly soaking up the misogyny. I'd feel more sorry for such women, except there's a simple way to end it - stop playing the game, Stand up for yourself, stop playing along. You're pathetic and weak, Ms. Lane. You haven't got a spine. You're a human doormat. It's positively shameful.
