There’s a lot of food in supermarkets and shopping centres. But what’s good for you and what isn’t?

Let’s start with fruit and vegetables. They’re very good for you because they’ve got a lot of vitamins. Vitamins are very important to be healthy so eat five pieces of fruit and vegetables a day. For example, cherries, green beans, peas, a banana and a tomato! That’s five. You can eat any other fruit or vegetable too! What

about fish? Fish is not only very good for you, it’s also very important because it’s got a lot of protein and healthy fats!

So if fish, fruit and vegetables are good for you, what’s bad? Well, every food is good for you but you have to be careful with how much you eat. Of course you can eat chocolate and biscuits, but it’s important to eat only a little because they’ve got a lot of sugar and calories! We know that a healthy diet is very important. What else is important? Sports! It’s very important to exercise, play sports and spend time outside!

and there was only one piece of pizza. There weren’t any peas and there weren’t any green

beans. There was half a cake and there were some cherries.

Today, there’s a lot of food! There are a lot of biscuits and there’s a lot of yoghurt!

I like hamburgers but there aren’t any hamburgers in the fridge. There are a few apples. Yummy!

My mum’s making Shepherd’s Pie. Do you know what a Shepherd’s Pie is? It’s a savoury pie with

minced lamb in it. I prefer Cottage Pie. It’s got minced beef in it, but Mum’s making Shepherd’s

Pie and not Cottage Pie!
