How do I ...Use My New Laptop?

Login to the Device

Open the laptop so you can see the screen and press the power key if it is not already on. Select any key.

This will give you the options to either :

Log on to OES Network Choose this login, if you are in the ALA Office either docked directly into the ALA Network or connected to ALA Guests. It will allow you to see all your network drives and folders (H:, N:, S:, etc.).

Computer Login Only Choose this login, if you are at home, or any remote location, not in an ALA Office.

Select a Wi-Fi option

When you are not docked at the ALA Office, you will need to select a Wi-Fi option (i.e. your Wi-Fi at home or mobile hotspot) to access the Internet. Look for this icon in the bottom right of the screen and look for the available networks in your area to connect to. If you are at home, you should see your home Wi-Fi in this list.

Dock/Undock Laptop?

Your new laptop connects directly with the ALA network once you dock it:

1. Match up the two holes in the bottom of your laptop with the two holds on the dock.

2. Once they engage, slide the lever on the right to secure the laptop to the dock. Since all your cables are connected to the dock, your laptop will charge and have network access, so you can login directly to the network.

3. To undock, slide the lever over to the right to disengage the laptop from the docking station and carefully lift it from the dock.
