KSU VPN Client Installation for Windows 10

The following describes how to install the GlobalProtect agent to connect to the KSU network from off-campus using a VPN connection on a Windows 10 machine.

Note: This guide was written using Google Chrome version 64.0.3497.100.

Configuring Your Off Campus PC or Laptop

Determining the Correct Agent to Download

1. In the Windows 10 taskbar, click the Start menu.

2. Click Settings.

3. The Windows settings window will appear. Click System.

4. The System window will appear. Click About (See Figure 4). 5. The About window will appear. Make note of the System type to determine which GlobalProtect agent

to select (See Figure 4).

Installing the GlobalProtect Agent

1. In your preferred browser, navigate to . 2. The Kennesaw State University VPN window will appear. Enter your NetID and password.

(See Figure 5). 3. Click LOG IN (See Figure 5).

4. You will be logged in and the Kennesaw State University VPN window will display a list of available GlobalProtect agent downloads. Click the download link that matches the system type you identified above. For example, the screenshot below is selecting the 64-bit agent.

5. The browser will begin to download the file to your computer.

6. Click the downloaded file (e.g., GlobalProtect64.msi or GlobalProtect32.msi, depending on your operating system) to run the GlobalProtect installation file.

7. Click Save File.

8. The GlobalProtect Setup Wizard window will open to guide you through the installation process. Click Next.

The GlobalProtect Installer will populate a folder location for the installation. Click Next.

9. The GlobalProtect Confirm Installation window will appear. Click Next.

10. The Installer window will notify you when the installation process is complete. Click Close.

11. Once the installer is closed, restart your computer to apply the changes. 12. After your computer restarts, login to your computer. 13. In the Windows10 system tray, click the GlobalProtect Agent Icon.

14. The GlobalProtect agent panel will appear. Enter the portal address vpn.kennesaw.edu (See Figure 15). 15. Click Connect (See Figure 15).

16. The Portal field will populate with the vpn address entered previously. Enter your NetID and password (See Figure 16).

17. Click Sign In (See Figure 16).

18. The agent will begin the connection process.

19. When successfully connected, the Status indicator will change to Connected and the GlobalProtect icon will change color.

20. You are now connected to the KSU campus network through the GlobalProtect VPN client. 21. The GlobalProtect Welcome window will appear. Click the Exit(X) button to close the window.

Note: If you do not want to see the Welcome window in the future, click the checkbox in front of Do not show this again.
