MLibrary has hundreds of databases that will help you find scholarly articles.
Why is it important to use scholarly sources for a college research paper? A scholarly article or book is generally based on original research or experimentation. It is written by a researcher or expert in the field who is often affiliated with a college or university. Using this previous authoritative knowledge, you are creating a new path of discovery. You may even build on previous knowledge to create new conclusions!
Why use scholarly sources from library databases? Searching library databases will help you find these good sources quickly so that you can write better papers.
What is a database? A research database is a search engine that looks through thousands of scholarly journals. You won’t find tweets or advertisements here!
How do you find the right database?
1. Go to the MLibrary main page
2. Click on the blue “Browse” tab.
3. Choose the subject that best fits your topic from the “Recommended Resources by Subject” box.
4. Refine your subject area further by clicking on “Narrow Your Selection (optional)”.
5. Click “Go.”
Where can I go for help?
Librarians can help you find the database you need. Go to for information about how to contact a librarian.
