For June 2000 Match

31 May, 2000

Stage 1: Saloon TCR-2

10 Pistol with option for 1 more pistol, 9 Rifle, 2 shotgun.

Rifle is staged by right window, shotgun staged beside door.

Instructions:

Start standing off of the porch, at buzzer go to doorway and with first pistol shoot Guapo 5 times in any order but you must end with the heart. Holster pistol and move to right window, pick up rifle and shoot through right window, triple tapping targets in any order. Lean open rifle against wall and move back to doorway, draw second pistol and shoot Guapo 5 times in any order again but you must end with the heart again. You now have an option of reloading one pistol round from your body and shooting the far rifle target for a 20-second bonus. No penalty for a miss other than the time you wasted. Holster the second pistol and pick up the shotgun, load 2 from the body and hit the two swingers.

5-second penalty for misses (except the bonus shot),

10-second procedural penalty for shooting targets in wrong order.

Stage 2: Land Office - Gunfighter stage! TCR-2

11 Pistol, 9 Rifle, 4 shotgun

Instructions:

Your two loaded pistols are staged on a table in front of the 5 hanging pistol targets and a stage gun with one round loaded is staged on a table in front of the large pistol targets. Rifle and shotgun are staged inside land office near doorway. Shotgun is loaded from the body.

Start standing in front of single stage pistol with your hands in the air. When you are ready, yell “Eat Lead, you scum!” and this will be the signal for the timer to start. At the buzzer, lower your hands and retrieve the stage gun and shoot one shot from the hip, at either large target. A hit is 5-second bonus, no penalty for a miss. Place empty pistol back down on the table and move to the other table and pick up both pistols, one in each hand. Shoot gunfighter style, alternating right and left hands, starting with the outside targets and moving inwards until you doubletap the center target, then back out again. Your pistols will never cross eachother – this will be demonstrated before the stage starts. Be careful that you don’t hold one pistol in front of the other. You can start with either the left or the right. Then place empty pistols back down on the table and move into the doorway of the building. Pick up rifle and sweep the 3 targets left to right, then right to left, then left to right: 1-2-3-3-2-1-1-2-3. Place open rifle down and pick up shotgun, loading from body, sweeping the two targets in any order. Reload and sweep two again.

Note on shooting gunfighter style: This should only be done if you feel you can do so safely. If you cannot safely do so, then just pick up one pistol and shoot stronghanded only sweeping in one direction, return gun to table and pick up second pistol and shoot the other pistol weakhanded only, sweeping in the other direction. If you cannot safely shoot with your weak hand at all, then shoot each pistol one-handed with your strong hand only, duellist style. If you feel you cannot shoot safely one-handed, then shoot each pistol in your standard traditional 2-handed style. The object here is to stretch your limits and get you to try something you may not have tried before, but only if you can do so safely. Same thing goes for the single hip-shot. If you cannot safely cock the gun one-handed, then you may use your off-hand to cock the gun.

The Timer Operator will unload and reload the single shot into the stage gun at the shooting table with the provided ammo. Everyone must be aware and do not walk in front of any of the tables that have pistols on them.

5-second penalty for misses (except the bonus shot),

10-second procedural penalty for shooting targets in wrong order.

Stage 3: The Clothesline TCR-2

10 Pistol, at least 2 shotgun, 9 rifle

Instructions:

Shotgun staged on wooden barricade, shotgun shells on body. Rifle leaning against fence.

Start leaning against fence. At buzzer, draw first pistol and shoot 3 targets left-to-right and back: 1-2-3-2-1. Holster pistol and pick up rifle and doubletap rifle targets left to right and then sweep left to right: 1-1-2-2-3-3-1-2-3. Place open rifle against fence and pick up shotgun, loading from body, and shoot two knock-down targets, must go down – reload off body as necessary. Place empty open shotgun down and draw second pistol and sweep pistol targets in opposite order from last time: 3-2-1-2-3.

5-second penalty for misses

10-second procedural penalty for shooting targets in wrong order.

Stage 4: The Corral TCR-2

5 Pistol, 9 Rifle, 2 shotgun, loaded off body. Load only 6 into rifle.

Instructions:

Rifle with 6 shots loaded, and shotgun staged against trough or fence.

At buzzer, draw pistol and shoot pistol targets 1-1-2-2-3. Shots must alternate from between the rails and above the rails. First, third, and fifth shots must be shot between the rails and second and fourth shots above the rail. Holster pistol and pick up rifle, double-tap the three rifle targets 1-1-2-2-3-3, then reload 3 rounds from body and sweep the rifle targets 1-2-3. Place empty open rifle down and pick up shotgun, load from body, and shoot swingers once each in any order.

5-second penalty for misses

10-second procedural penalty for shooting targets in wrong order.

Stage 5: Sheriff’s Office TCR-2

10 Pistol, 9 Rifle, at least 4 shotgun

Both pistols are staged on cot, shotgun staged beside door, rifle staged against tree stump by well beside office. 8 shotgun shells are staged in closed box.

Instructions:

Start seated beside Bruce, with your right wrist handcuffed to Bruce. At the buzzer, yell “Nobody’s gonna lynch me!” and take the wooden rod and retrieve the key ring that is hanging on the other side of the doorway. Unlock your handcuff, pick up first pistol from cot and shoot the bad guy in any order as long as you end with the heart. Place empty pistol back on cot. Go to right side of building and pick up rifle and sweep the 4 bowling pins twice left to right, then shoot your last shot at the far rifle target. Place empty open rifle back down at the stump and head back into the office. Retrieve shotgun shells from the box. You may put them on the cot, on the ledge on the wall, on the chair, or on your body, but remember that any that hit the floor are dead and can’t be used. As you are getting ready to shoot the shotgun, yell “Come on Bruce, help me or they’ll hang ya!” Shoot the 4 knock-downs – they must go down. Reload as necessary for a maximum of 8 shots. Place empty open shotgun down by door and pick up 2nd pistol from cot and shoot bad guy again, ending with heart again.

5-second penalty for misses

10-second procedural penalty for shooting targets in wrong order or for leaving a shotgun target standing with less than 8 shots fired (that would be “failure to engage”)

Stage 6: Shoot your poker hand TCR-2

5 pistol, 9 rifle, at least 2 shotgun

Shotgun is staged laying open on table.

Instructions:

Start seated in outhouse with rifle at port arms. At buzzer shoot rifle targets while seated, triple tap three targets in any order. Lay open rifle down on table and pick up shotgun, load and shoot the two shotgun targets and the knockdown must go down, reload off body as necessary. Lay open empty shotgun down on table and draw pistol. Shoot the playing cards with 5 shots.

After the shooter has taken his guns to the unloading table, the Timer will call “Downrange!” and as soon as everyone has backed away from the loading and unloading tables, the timer will go check the card target for score and apply pasters to the bullet holes. The poker hand you shoot will determine your bonus for this stage. Any bullet hole that touches a card will count for that card. There are no misses counted for the pistol. Score as follows:

Bonus Hand

-------- -------

25 sec Straight

20 sec 5 of a kind

15 sec 4 of a kind or Full house (3 of a kind and a pair)

10 sec 3 of a kind or 2 pair

5 sec 1 pair

The lowest score you can get on this stage after your bonus is “0” (no negative time scores).
