EPILEPSY BEREAVED - SPONSORSHIP FORM - SUDEP
Purple Day Pack
Purple Day began in 2008, when Cassidy Megan, motivated by her own struggles with epilepsy, wanted to dispel epilepsy myths & raise awareness across the world. SUDEP Action likewise works to raise awareness of epilepsy risks with people with epilepsy, to help keep them safer; but we need your help!
So this Purple Day why not raise funds and awareness for SUDEP Action? You can find some fundraising ideas and materials via our website . You can hold any fundraising event you like but to help inspire you we have put together some suggestions.
1) Walk 5 K for Purple Day – A sponsored walk can be done alone, or it can be a great way to get friends and family involved in your fundraising, as well as reach out to your local community. There are various route planners online such as , which can help you decide on your 5K route. You could put up posters in your local community asking people to get involved, and put an advert in your local paper. You could wear a purple outfit or costume. A sponsor form us supplied in this pack and we recommend you set up an online donations page via to collect online sponsors. A guide to setting up a JustGiving page is included in this pack.
2) Hold a Purple Cake Sale – Cake sales can be very popular. You will need to find a well-attended spot in a public area and ask permission from your local council to hold the stands there. You could ask neighbours, friends and family to supply a cake. Perhaps your local baking club or WI would like to help out too. A purple cake recipe is included in this pack.
3) Sponsored Public Purple Mannequin Challenge – This requires you and at least one other person (to film you). Wear a purple outfit or costume, find a place in a public area, and get filmed pretending to be a mannequin for one minute. Make sure the spot that you chose is a safe place to stay still. An online donations page can help you get sponsored, check out the guide included in this pack. A sponsor form is also included.
