Statement from Attorney General Frosh on the Inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.

BALTIMORE, MD (January 20, 2021) ? Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today released the following statement:

"Today begins a new chapter in the history of our democracy. I look forward to working with the Biden-Harris Administration as we move forward to restore the rule of law; repair the damage done to our land, air and water; restore access to healthcare for all Americans; and protect the freedoms we all deserve. Tough days are ahead of us as we recover from a worldwide pandemic, ensure all of our neighbors are housed, fed, and secure, and build our economy stronger, better, and more equitable.

"As we look toward the future, we take a moment to reflect on the historic significance of this new administration. We celebrate Kamala Harris as our nation's first female, AfricanAmerican, Asian-American Vice President. We celebrate the compassion and empathy of President Joe Biden - a man of honor, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to our country.

"Today, we close the chapter of division and falsehoods. Today we begin the hard work of rebuilding `a more perfect union.' We begin again to celebrate the diversity of our great country and to ensure that every American has the opportunity to share in the promise of our great nation."
