One of the causes of WW1 and WW2 were the alliances …
One of the causes of WW1 and WW2 were the alliances formed between the countries, which lead to hatred and rivalry. Some of the countries that fought WW1, had similar allies when they fought WW2. For example, during WW1 Britain, France, USSR, and Italy were allies called the Allied Powers (which the US later joined in 1917). Likewise, in WW2 Britain, France, USSR, and the United States continued being allies. One of the main reasons why WW1 started was because of hatred and rivalry. Countries started forming alliances in case they were attacked, and in 1905 Germany formed the Schlieffen plan to fight France and USSR. Unlike most of the allies, some countries broke their alliance with each other. Some of the allies that fought together for WW1, broke their alliance for WW2 and fought with the opposite side. For example, during WW1 Italy was fighting with the Allied Powers, but later joined the Axis Power, which was formed by Germany, Japan, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. The Axis Power was initially formed in November 1, 1936, involving Germany and Italy. Later in November 25, 1936, Imperial Japan joined the Axis Power. Historians believe that WW1 caused WW2, and an example of this would be the Treaty of Versailles, which forced Germany to reduce its military and give up its territory. Hitler broke this pact, and with the help of his alliances, he started to take over Europe. Countries such as Britain were worried that they would lose their territory, and joined their alliances again, and started fighting WW2. In conclusion, one of the causes of WW1 and WW2 were alliances, because of the hatred and rivalry between the allied nations.
