After 2,000 automated login attempts, hackers succeeded in guessing one wholesaler's login credentials. Their system succumbed to a brute force ransomware attack which allowed hackers access to infect the wholesaler's system with ransomware. The attackers took control of six physical and 35 virtual servers, and 90 workstations. The attackers then demanded a ransom for the system's release.
