Why can’t I turn on/off my player?

You need to hold down the Play/Pause button until the player turns on/off.

How do I start and stop my eAudiobook?

You need to press the Play/Pause button.

How do I safely remove my player from my computer?

Double click on this icon [pic] on the taskbar (usually lower right corner)

Make sure your device is highlighted and click on Stop

Wait for the computer to tell you that it is okay to disconnect.

Do I need to install the software that came with the player?

To use NetLibrary you might need to install Window Media Player

▪ Windows Media Player v. 10 (optional/recommended) This is the software that you will use to transfer NetLibrary eAudiobooks to your player. You only need to install this version if you have version 9 or less. Windows Media Player continues to improve and update their software. Do not install this if you have a higher version.

How do I know what version of Windows Media Player is currently on my computer?

Open up Windows Media Player. Under Help choose About Windows Media Player

Where is the user’s guide for the player?

On the installation CD that came with the player. You will need to answer a few questions until you get to this screen. Just click on User’s guide.

How do I find my eAudiobooks?

This depends. Start at the main menu. Find the folder icon and push the scroller in. Push the scroller left or right to find your files. Press the play/pause button to begin to listen to your book.

How do I delete an eAudiobook?

While the eAudiboook is playing push the scroller in. Push the scroller to the left or right until you find the trash can icon. Push the scroller in. Move scroller to the left to the trash can with a check mark icon. Push the scroller in to delete.

I keep getting an icon of an X and a lock with a check mark. What do I do?

At some point you locked your player so that you would not change any settings while you were listening to a recording. If you select the lock with the check mark, you will unlock the player.

Why does my player turn off after a period of time?

The player is set to shut off after 10 minutes of being idle. You can change the setting to 2, 5, 10 or 30 minutes in the settings menu.

Why are some files/tracks corrupted when transferred to my player?

Transfer may have been interrupted. Before disconnecting your player from your computer, stop your player first.

Why does my player turn off immediately after it is turned on?

The battery may be too depleted to power your player. Replace the battery and try again.

I have to change the battery quite often. Is there anything I can do to make it last longer?

▪ The following will make your batteries last longer.

▪ Set shorter backlight duration.

▪ Set a lower contrast setting.

▪ Avoid unnecessarily skipping ahead and back within tracks.

▪ Avoid unnecessarily turning the player on and off.

▪ Avoid using passive speakers or high-powered headphones.

Avoid playing back WMA tracks especially tracks with high bitrates or heavy bass.

What about the other software on the installation disc?

This depends on what you would like to do with your player. Consult the user’s guide for more information about your player.

▪ Creative ZEN Nano Plus This program helps you manage and organize your files on the player.

▪ Creative MediaSource This program has features shared by Windows Media Player and Creative Zen Nano Plus explorer. The benefit of this program is that it was specifically designed to work with the player.

▪ Audible Manager This program is the necessary component to purchasing eAudiobooks from If you would like to take advantage to the 3 free downloads then you will need to install this software. Audible Manager continues to improve and update their software. Do not install this if you have a higher version.

▪ AOL Desktop With AOL Desktop Search you can quickly find documents, pictures, music, videos and e-mail on your own computer using keywords and phrases.

What else can the player do? I see other icons on the menu.
