The munitions factory was making ammunition for the Allies which is most likely why Germany bombed it.Much like the sinking of the Lusitania, this was an attack that made the Americans more vengeful. The bad guys were now on US soil and Americans could no longer just sit back and watch the war go on without them. They needed to protect their country and entering the war was how they were to do that. ................
