Personal Playlist Project - Ewing Public Schools

Personal Playlist Project

Directions: Share the music that you like and that you think describes you. Choose 6 songs that reflect your favorite types of music and that you think describe your personality well. Prepare a script identifying the titles, performing artists and types or styles of music to turn into me. Include your personal reaction to each song. Collect your songs into a playlist on your MP3 player or burn a CD. If you do not have a way to share your music, print off the lyrics for each song and write a brief description of the song. We will share the songs with each other in class.

Use these steps to plan your presentation:

1. Make a list of your favorite music and identify the characteristics that appeal to you.

2. Think about the different music styles that you like to listen to and choose a song that represents each style.

3. Identify why you like each song. What personal connection do you make with each song?

4. Plan the order of your playlist—don’t spend the presentation searching through your MP3 player!

Below is the rubric upon which you will be graded:

|Song 1 |Song 2 |Song 3 |Song 4 |Song 5 |Song 6 | |Title/Artist/Style (3 points) | | | | | | | |Why do you like it? (2 points) | | | | | | | |

Handout listing Title/Artist/Style for each song _____/5 points

Preparation _____/10 points

Total _____/45 points

Have fun!
