|If you are planning to apply for a graduate or professional academic program, chances are, you will need to write some type of |

|personal statement. This project will provide an opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with a specific Graduate School’s |

|admission requirements and general admissions procedures. It will also allow you to craft a thoughtful personal statement. |

| INSTRUCTIONS: |

|Read Chapter 21 in the textbook. |

|Your finished project should fulfill ALL of the requirements below. |

|School Program Selection: Write one paragraph summarizing why the school you have selected would be a good choice for you. Feel |

|free to include the chart you created for Project 11 which will highlight your preferences. |

|Essay: Complete all essay questions found in the application form for your program. You will need to spend some time on this as |

|application essays are expected to be short but meaningful. You will want to take some time to look at online suggestions or books |

|on the subject. Think about what you want to communicate. The essay is an important part of your application and it will help you |

|stand out as an exceptional candidate if it is done well. |

|Application: Locate the actual application of the professional graduate program for which you plan to enroll. Print the |

|application and completely fill it out, including all of the essay questions. Make a copy of your application and submitted with |

|your other two parts above. You will only do this project if you fully intend to actually complete an application for professional|

|graduate school after you complete the degree to which you are currently working. |
