PSPICE 9.1 Student Version Installation Guide for Windows 10 Computers
1. Download the executable file from BlackBoard titled "91pspstu_PSPICE_9_1.exe".
2. Create a directory in the C:\ drive to store all installation files. For example, "C: \Users\your_username\Downloads\Programs\" (you can put the directory any other place you'd like). Move the executable file into this directory.
3. Run the executable file. It will ask you to unzip the contents somewhere. Unzip the contents into the directory you created earlier (i.e., "C:\Users\your_username\Downloads\Programs\").
4. Before moving forward, make sure that you have disabled any security software that you have installed on your computer. As you will see in the installation wizard, you are prompted to disable security software before installing PSPICE and OrCAD Capture products. For example, disable Symantec Endpoint Protection.

5. NOTE: If you do not use Windows Defender, ignore this step. Make sure that you disable the "Real-time protection" option for Windows Defender security software, which can be found under Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Defender.
6. If you have Internet security add-ons installed on Google Chrome, it is recommended that you restart Google Chrome or whichever web browser you are using. a. NOTE: Through experimentation, I have discovered that the installation wizard will stall in Task Manager, not opening until you have closed your running instance of Microsoft Word.
7. Run the "Setup.exe" file contained in the direction you created that was extracted the executable file. The installation wizard should run and you can install the software.
8. The set-up process isn't over! If you try to run the programs without following these last steps, they will run... but you won't see the "PSpice" menu in the OrCAD Capture window.
