This is due to the ever rapidly changing situation regarding Covid-19. As such, we have allowed students to sit for the tests from their home.To ensure that there is no cheating, parents will also be required to join a Zoom video conference and video the students taking the test, for the whole duration of the test. This is to ensure that students do not cheat by referring to external reference materials. Also, the students are only allowed to do their workings on a small whiteboard. (1 for student, 1 for parent)RulesStudents are only allowed to communicate with the teacher and invigilator and are not allowed to communicate with other students in any form whatsoever. Students who are found to have broken this rule will be disqualified and their scores will be void. To get the teachers attention, students may “Raise their hand” via Zoom.Students are not allowed to use calculators or electronic devices of any kind.Student are always to have their webcam and microphone turned on, as well as their secondary camera (Parent’s/Guardian’s Device)Students are not allowed to record or capture any of the questions, students caught doing so will be disqualified. Students are only allowed to have Google Chrome/Internet Explorer open with only 1 tab open. In the case of a disconnect please resolve the internet issue as soon as possible, then re-join the Zoom meeting and continue with the questions.Students are required to disable screenshot function, please follow the instructions in this link. Teachers and invigilator will check if you have disabled screenshot before the test beginsShould you face any problems, raise your hand and either the teacher or SIMCC Invigilator will assist you.WARNING*ANY STUDENT CAUGHT CHEATING, BREAKING ANY OF THE ABOVE RULES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND WILL BE BARRED FROM FUTURE SIMCC COMPETITIONS*Set up (Parents)Ensure that all equipment is working before the test, if any are not working, student will not be allowed to take part.Parent will set up smartphone/laptop so that camera has an unobstructed full view of the student taking the competition. Parents may use a tripod as we have to observe the student for the entire duration of the contests. Please ensure that your device has sufficient battery or is plug into a power source.Teacher will pass students 2 Zoom links, 1 for the student and 1 for the parent.Parent will join the Zoom link. There will be a prompt to enter your name, please enter the name of the Student, and share the video so that we have an unobstructed view of the student.If the video disconnects without a valid reason, we will consider the student to be cheating and will disqualify the student and his score will be void.Only when the student has submitted their answers and completed the test/when time is up, students will be given instructions on what to do next by the teacher.Set Up (On contest date)StudentTutor1. Ensure that their back is facing wall4. Once all students have entered, tutor and Invigilator begin recording after all students have started screen sharing2. Ensure that microphone and webcam are tested and working5. Tutor conducts check to ensure student’s webcam and microphone are working3. Students log in to Zoom using link sent by teacher6. Tutor briefs students on the rules and what to do in case of a disconnect3.5 Students share their screen using Zoom7. Tutor and Invigilator check that all students do not have any other applications open other than Google Chrome – 1 Tab Open only. (MUST CHECK THAT THERE ARE NO HIDDEN ICONS)9. Students log in to SIMCC OCS8. Teacher dispatches SIMCC OCS login credentials to students11. Students begin test.10. Tutor verifies that all students have logged in successfully and grants the students participation approval.Upon/After completionStudentTutor1. Student submits answers and informs tutor while their screen is still being shared2. Tutor verifies that student has successfully submit and allows student to leave Zoom meeting3. Student leaves Zoom meeting4. Once all students have submitted their answers, tutor and invigilator will upload their recording Google Drive.What to look out for, once test startsStudents maintain their screen share. Once students have begun screen sharing, there will be a green icon beside their name. If any of the student’s icon disappear, we deem it as cheating and they will be disqualified.Student has microphone and webcam turned on at ALL TIMES. If any student mutes their microphone or turns off their webcam. The icons will change. In such cases, the student will be deemed to be cheating and will be disqualifiedStudent only has Google Chrome/Internet Explorer open, with only 1 tab.FAQQ. Can students view the screens of other students?A. No. Students will not be able to view the screens of other students when they themselves are also sharing their screens. As such, students should also be sharing their screens at all times until the completion of the contest.Q. Can students give remote access to other students?A. Yes, but no. Students may give remote access to other students to have them help them with the test. But as long as the other is also sharing their screen, they are unable to view and control the screen of the other student.Q. Can students share their answers with other students via private message (PM)?A. No. We will disable the function which allows the students to PM other students. They will only be able to PM the host (Teacher and SIMCC Invigilator).Q. Will students be able to take screenshots and share the answers with their friends.A. We will be checking the screenshots folder (This PC\Pictures\Screenshots) after they have completed the test to check if they have taken any screenshots using Windows Key + PrintScreen. If the student is found out to have taken any screenshot during the test, they will be deemed as cheating and will be disqualified.Q. Will students be able to cheat by using their smartphone or have reference materials?A. No. This is where the parent’s/guardian’s device comes in. The purpose of it is to have an unobstructed view of the student to ensure that they do not cheat. Please refer to the instruction for parents for more details. ................
