NWU – Network Access Control

Prerequisite steps, before you begin :

1. Uninstall Mcafee Antivirus and the RSClient

Option 1: Once the network cable has been connected to the PC. Open a command

prompt and check with ipconfig, your IP address.

If you have a 10.94.X.X address you are on the remediation network and you

can run

Option 2: Download the removal tool (clean.exe) on a USB device and run on the PC



You are now ready to continue :

Open a Browser and go to . The following should be displayed momentarily:

The following should then be displayed. Click on “Agree” to continue:

Click “Start>>” to Continue:

Provide your University Number and Password and click “Click to Continue”:

The connection will be set up. Please be patient.

Please close and reopen your Browser when prompted.

The isolation/remediation messages will appear for a few seconds:

The following will then be displayed. Click “NWU Persistent Security Policy” to continue:

Click “Click to Continue” when prompted on the WELCOME page [pic]

Save the Agent on the Desktop for easy access:

Open Windows explorer and execute the file. It may prompt. Click Run to execute:

Follow the screens and click Next until the installation completes with “Finish”

The Bradford Agent will check the pc for Security Essentials compatibility. If compliant, the pc will be online and connected to the LAN.

Close and re-open your Browser. If not compliant, the following will happen. Click “NWU-Persistent-Security-Policy again:

Security Essentials must be installed and up to date. Click on the top link:

Save and then open/run from Windows Explorer:

Always accept any security prompts that may appear during execution and also follow the messages displayed in the dos windows that will appear. Wait for installation to finish.

Click “Rescan”. Click the link to continue:

Save and open/run from Windows Explorer:

Again follow messages displayed in the dos windows that will appear.

Afterwards click Rescan on the webpage. The following will appear:

Windows XP should now be registered on the network and have full access. Click “Ok” and close/ reopen your Browser:

You should be able to access: and browse as desired:
