Basic Operation

System requirements

Operating system: Windows XP / 2 K/ME / 98 (need to install the driver) / Linux9 and above/Mac OS 10

The CPU: at least for 133 MHz Pentium-

Memory: at least 32 MB

Hard disk space: free at least for 100 MB

Video card: 640 * 480 above, at least for enhanced color mode (16)

Turns on/off the phone

Turns on the phone：

1）Long press power button to boot.

2）Insert USB can boot.

3）Insert charging adapter can boot.

4）Reset to restart boot.

Turns off the phone：Long press power button to turn off.

standby

Boot state, short press the button“ power” to close screen. Again short press power button, into the standby interface of real-time clock.

According shortly to the clock standby interface, can switch into standby interface of calendar.

Left or right sliding screen, can switch over to display up/down a month calendar.

Remove standby mode:

Drag the left button, can unlock sliding door way into the main interface or the interface of the standby before.

Volume control

In the state of music, FM radio, video, etc, according to key +, - can control volume directly. + means to increase the volume, and – is to reduce the volume.

Power reset

If the player appear to crash while using , according to RESET button to reset the player.

Connect computers and data files transmission

With USB line randomly provided connecting PC and player, will be shown the interface below: power and data transmission, USB charging, charging and playing。

Click to select into a different state.

1) Power and data transmission: into the material transfer status, are shown in the following interface.

Note: the data transfer process, please remember that don't disconnect USB connection, to avoid conditions of copies failure or data error;

3）Charge and play: enter the work interface, at this time charging on the background.

Charging

The machine adopts high capacity of lithium battery. Connect the player to the computer USB port or the charger to charge.

1）If use the accompanied charger, the charger lights is red while charging; lights turn green, said charging full.

2）If use USB cable charging, please see the article on "connected computers and data files transmission" (2) USB charging.

Notes：

If long time do not need the player, please place it with full of electricity ; after six months need to charge it again to avoid the battery damage.

List interface operation

In all list interface, sliding left to popup delete selected dialog box (except TV output mode, don't support deletion function; in the surfing mode, pop-up selected box, and specific details shown in surfing device model section).

Battery low electricity

When power is not enough, the player will automatically appear tip screen, then shutdown automatically, at this time, please don't restart, but charge in time.

File storage

Different types of archives shall be stored in the corresponding portfolio, as below.

Such as: MUSIC files should be placed under the MUSIC portfolio. Otherwise, cannot find the document in music application list.

Use Micro SD card

When the unit is connected with the computer, will find that there are two removable disk. The front one is the machine built-in memory disk, and another is the disk of Micro SD card. If no inserted cards, the second disk can't open. This machine can support 32 GB (the biggest) Micro SD card expansion.

Inserted Micro SD card

Insert: place the positive of Micro SD card (with word side) up (with the display screen of the machine for the above), a little direction of force to insert it to the machine' s seats to connect it to the machine. In this state the machine can play the file in Micro SD card.

Move out: gently push Micro SD card, Micro SD card will rebound out one section, and then can take it out.

Note: please executive inserted card operation under the state of turning off, or you will cause internal gear of the machine lost or damaged.

The main interface

Boot into the main interface as below:

Widget application

Widget application tools including: timers, calendar, FM, desktop background switch, clock, music, date, calculator.

Calendar

Click calendar on the drag area, into the calendar application interface. In Chinese language mode, provide the lunar, 24 solar terms, tian came on the sale and constellation information, while in English mode only support western calendar and constellation information.

timers

Click the meter on the drag area, into the times application interface.

Support start/stop/calculate/reset function. When click start, reset button will turn into calculate button. If you stop the times, it appears opposite. Click reset to eliminate all the count value. Now the times have the minimum unit step of 0.01 seconds and maximum range 60 minutes. Can support up to record 16 times .

Calculator

Click the calculator on the drag area, into the calculator Lord interface. Calculator has the same function with Windows’ calculator.

Music mode

Music application Lord interface

In the main menu interface touch screen "music”, enter "music" list shown below, chose a song to enter music playing interface.

Background control: support audio files play background. Click this button, pop-up background application dialog box, may realize the function of fast switching to a top/bottom song, pause/play music, etc. Function. Click again on the button background application or the area out of the dialog box, the dialog box disappear. This music background can be applied in the video, camera, games, and the other application mode of FM use.

Label: sliding left or right in the label area select the following tags: the whole pieces, singers, album, genre, and play lists, directory surfing, audio, labels list, grade, search.

Note: the left or right arrow on both ends of the area is for instruction, not for operation, as well in the other application interface.

• All the pieces: list all the stored music directory file built-in memory music player. Click the name of the songs to play. Then sliding left in content project area, popup delete button; click the delete button, pop-up sure/cancel delete dialog box. Sliding right to cancel the delete button.

• Singer: in the singer list, select a singer and then the next level lists all the songs of the singer. Unknown singer item deposits the singers’ songs that can not be identified. If there is not such song, the item does not exist. Unknown album and unknown genre items have the same function with above.

• Album: According to the classification of the songs on the album voltages.

• Genre: schools list, select a genre, the next level of the schools listed all the songs.

• Playlist: a total of five play lists, the user can classify the songs according to his demand. From the playlist into songs played, by default, play songs according to this list order.

• Directory surfing: according to flash, music, pictures, sound recording, video classification, make a list of all music files under the disk root directory (inside and outside memory).

• Recording documents: list all the recording gear.

• Label list: list all the songs with a label on the player, click it to play songs according to label and time points. The same song can have many labels with the biggest of 32 tags.

• Level: a total of 1-5 star international level, the list lists songs at this level of the corresponding list. Users can rate the songs according to the fond degree of each song, then the system classify and retrieval according to the levels set by the users .The unrated songs can't show in star list.

Note: from star list, playlists, tag list only delete list item, not delete the file on disk.

• Search: click search label, into the following interface

Input method switch: adopt way of soft keyboard/handwritten input, support simplified Chinese character, traditional Chinese and English, digital input. Click- input method to switch the button. Available switch among English, Chinese pinyin and handwritten input.

Delete: support delete all input characters already or delete them one by one.

Search function:

1）Support file name fuzzy search

2）support search wholesale songs to specified disk (if there is no external storage don't tip the default search internal memory, if there are external memory the tip said to select disk device in search)

3）Search matched items will display in search interface list. If no match appears empty. List record doesn't support deleted.

4）show all matched records disposable after search

Music play interface

Click button/the ICONS to enter relevant option.

Album picture area: click this area, can start album songs’ names, and choose the corresponding songs.

Spectrum/lyrics display: support "*. LRC ", and lyrics file name is consistent with songs file name. When playing songs’ directory has the same lyrics files, click on the file lyrics to switch between spectrum shows and lyrics display. Without lyrics, it shows the file spectrum.

A-B answer read: first click, A highlighted, and selected the current playing time point as point A; The second click, B highlighted, and selected B; The third click is A-B highlighted, started A-B loops play. The fourth click cancel A-B play, return to normal play.

Short press to choose a last/next song, long press can be fast forward/retreat quickly, fast forward/retreat quickly without playing sounds.

Loops mode: order, single loops, loops all, random, random + repeat order, the default is order playing.

Senior Settings: click then the following setting interface is pop up, while the interface turn into highlighted, background interface dimmed, and corresponding operation of the button to the background interface is invalid.

Progress bar: drag the slider or directly click on any other place, can make the current music start playing from the time point.

Add to playlist: choose a click confirm from five playlist, click sure, then the current playing songs added to the corresponding play lists. At this point, corresponding documents can be found in music application corresponding playlist.

Delete: delete the current play songs, will pop up confirm/cancel dialog box.

Add labels: click add labels, will join the current playing songs and time point to the list, and return to play tag interface. But in the music application < The Lord interface-tag list > search all the tag set up.

Set star: Set star to the current file broadcast

As decribed above: open/close as decribed above.

EQ Settings: clicking into sound Settings. 7 kinds of sound: natural, rock, pop, classical, downy, jazz, and heavy bass. Support the user to define sound and SRS surround sound three-dimensional setting.

1. EQ: click in, users drag slider regulation.

Video mode

Video main interface

In the main menu interface touch screen "video of some", and then enter into "video" list as below to select interface.

Label: all video, directory area surfing, tag lists, my video, search.

• All videos: list all video files stored in the video directory of built-in memory. Left sliding in the content area, popup delete button and the operation is the same with that of the music.

• Directory browsing: retrieval all video files by directory.

• Label list: List all the video that have been set labels on the player, click it to start playing from label video and its time points. Biggest support 32 tags. From the label list into a tag video, after normally broadcast it will automatically return to the label list, but not switch mode according to the current play.

put a label on the player has set up a file in the video,(Label: list all click to label video and its time points from start playing. The same video support DuoGe tags. Biggest support 32 tags. From the label into a list tag video, normally broadcast after the completion of the list will not automatically return to label, according to the current switch switch mode play.

• My Video: Video files list in video/camera directory list for: file pictures/state name/recording time/total length.

• Search: searching for a single video, function and operation are the same with < music-search >.

Video broadcast interface

While video broadcasts, click on the screen, then the interface show as following:

Video play area: delete, add labels, video information, loops model, setting.

• Add labels: add the current play video and its time points to join to the label list.

• Video information: holding down the diagram form, it can display detailed information of the current video: format/bit rate/frame rate/resolution/file size.

• Loops mode: order, single loops, loops all, random, random + repeat order, order playing (the default).

• Settings: video Settings: audio tracks, subtitles, display mode.

1）Audio track: support audio track switching.

2) Onscreen caption: support embedded subtitles/plug-in subtitles/shut down. The default is turning off. If the user currently selects "plug-in", plug-in subtitles will be the priority display. When no plug-in subtitles, it shows embedded subtitles (if any).

3）The display mode:

← Full-screen: video screen stretching to full screen;

← Video proportion shows (default): the width and height of a video screen scaling to less than the width and height of the screen according to the original photo; the another direction of the picture (height or width) is equal to the height or width of the screen;

← The original size of the video display: if the width and height of the video are smaller than the width and height of the screen, the screen video pictures display on the screen center; On other conditions, the video displays according to the original ratio.

Pictures Lord Interface

In the main menu interface touch screen of "pictures", and then enter into "pictures" function interface.

Clicking on the list on the right, pictures surfing mode turn into list mode, as follows:

Label: all photos, directory area surfing and taking pictures of the pictures, search, switch button in pictures surfing way.

• Picture: display all images file under the internal memory portfolio. Thumbnail surfing mode shows only the thumbnail images. List surfing mode displays file name and picture thumbnails.

1）Under thumbnail surfing mode, click on all images and each page shows 12 images; left or right sliding can flip slide.

2）Moving up/down in the photo display, can make the displaying picture increase/decrease; each screen can show 12/9/6/3 pictures. The following diagram shows the operation.

• Directory browsing: retrieval all images file according to the directory.

Images broadcast interface

During the picture playing, click on the screen to show the below interface.

Play controlled area: delete, desktop background Settings, manual/automatic playback, scaling, rotating, Settings, fast switching.

• Picture surfing switching: through the sliding screen, can switch on the last /next picture.

• Desktop background Settings: clicking this diagram form, will set the current image to desktop lord interface background.

• Manual/automatic playback: click to realize switching between manual or automatic broadcast way.

• Rotation: support clockwise 90 °, 180 °, 270 ° rotation operation.

• Zoom: support amplification of 1 ~ 2 times .

• Settings:

1）Slide effects: While setting automatic play of the pictures, you can choose the random, flew into, chessboard, wipe, division, shutters, random line, compression, 360 degrees flip, etc slide transition effect.

2）Slide interval: while setting automatic play , you can choose the interval time of image switching from 1 to 10 s

3）Display mode: full screen display, the original size, and proportion.

4）Detailed information: show the relevant information of the current pictures : the file name, resolution, the photography date.

• Fast switching: While browsing the image file in full screen, click this button to see the progress of the current browsing. Tips for progress: the current file number/ the total file number of the current directory. You can also drag the slider to switch pictures quickly.

E-book mode

Under the main menu interface, touch screen "e-book" function icon , then enter the "e-book" list selection interface

• All titles: display internal memory e-book directory of all text files.

• Directory browsing: Search for all text files of internal and external memory by directory and flow profile name.

• Label list: display all labels gears: title, tag point (percentage). Biggest support 32 labels of the text file .

• Search: search text file, function with the music

Text surfing interface

Choose a text file, into the e-book surfing interface.

• Delete: delete the current flow in relation to the file.

• Label list: click this button to save the current browsing page as a book mark. From "e-book function interface-tag list" option to extract the corresponding bookmark

• Manual/automatic playback: click in the manual or automatic switch between play mode.

• Font Settings: the font size optional: small (12) / middle(16) / big (24)

• Rotation: supporting TXT format unmindful switch between screen

1）Special effects settings: choose to close, rotated flip, flip content.

2）Automatic reading interval: automatic surfing time setting, optional 3 seconds / 6 seconds / 9 seconds / 12 seconds / 15 seconds.

3）Choice of encoding: simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, English, utf-8, UTF-16.

4）Interface matching colors: setting interface color, can choose blue, dark yellow, red.

Fast switching: Click to display the current text playback progress, the current page number / total number of pages of file. Dragging the slider can jump to the corresponding page.

• Note: Application from the list into e-book reading e-books, support breakpoint play.

Recording

Recording application interface

Click apply-recording, enter the recording application interface.

• Line In，FM。input audio source: can choose microphones, Line In, FM.

• audio format：MP3, WAV, WMA. Recording file format: MP3, WAV, WMA

• Replay/Pause: click the replay, enter < music- recording file> to check the recording of the file. When the tape is in progress, the replay becomes pause button .

• Start/Stop: click to start recording. When the tape is in progress, it becomes stop button.

• Settings:

1）Recording quality: low, medium and high.

2）Save path: optional internal storage device, card equipment, the external storage equipment. The default is the internal storage device music \ record directory.

3）Mute detection: closed/open. When the external sound power is lower than arranged threshold, suggesting that the current state is muted.

4）Record gain: adjustable recording gain 1 to 5, the default is 3.

Radio mode

FM Interface explain

In the main menu interface touch the function diagram form of"application ---the radio" on the screen, and then enter into "the radio" application interface.

Under this application, if there is not any headphone, the system will prompt the user to insert headphones.

Support breakpoint renewal: the state saves after FM broadcast exiting, then enter from the current listening items, and continue to play out the radio documentary.

• Manually searching stage: long press PREV/NEXT can automatic search on last/next broadcast to listen (Display step frequency: 100 KHz).

• Automatic search platform: Support the automatic search for the effective radio during the current band range, and store in the corresponding band list (Automatic search step frequency: 100 KHz).

The most supporting save is 18 radios. Click suspended can stop the search during automatic search.

• Tuned wheel: fluctuate gyro wheel, can search frequency band, which is simulated radio operation.

• Channel control areas: click the arrow or drag the channel controlled area, to choose radio from the radio list kept.

• Settings: click Settings into the following interface:

1）Radio frequency band: optional frequency band to China, Japan, Europe and the United States.

2）FM sensitivity: search for sensitivity adjustable: low sensitivity, sensitivity, high sensitivity

3）Recording format ：MP3, WAV, WMA

4）The tape gain: gain optional range 1 ~ 5, the default is 3.

FM recording interface description

In the state of radio, click the recording into FM station recording interface.

FM recording is the same with the recording mode.

Surfing device model

In the main menu interface touch the function diagram form of the screen "surfing" on the screen, and then enter into the "surfing" function interface. Including internal memory, card catalog (not display if no card), external memory directory.

This function can list all player portfolio and gear in the store. In the interface, user can choose the music, video, e-books and pictures supported by the player to play; file Also can directly to delete, search, select, copy the selected file to.

• Selected: left sliding the items, will pop-up the following selected box: according to box "whole selection" button selects all files, also can choose more or single radio.

System mode Settings

In the main interface touch the function diagram form

of "system of some set" on the screen, and then enter into "system Settings" function interface.

• screen

1）Backlight brightness

The set range: level 1 ~ 5, the higher the level, the greater the brightness. Default is level 3.

2）Backlighting time

If in this time there is no operation, the backlight will turn off. The set range: off / 5 seconds / 10 seconds / 20 seconds / 30 seconds / 1 minute. The default is off.

• Saving time

If in this time there is no operation, the machine will turn off. The set range: off, 10 s, 30 s, 1 m, 3 m, 5 m and 10 m. Default is off.

2. sleep time

Regular shutdown. The set range: off, 10 min, 30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 3 h, 4 h, 5 h. Default is off.

• time and date

Set time and date, take 24-hour system.

Click on the digital, can pop up the following interface. Drag up and down the digital ring, and the selected digital will be highlighted.

• language choice

Support English, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese three languages. Click to select the corresponding language.

• Reset

1）Formatting built-in memory: click then the system will display confirm windows.

2）Restoring factory settings

Click in then the system will automatically warn whether to restore system default settings.

Click "ok" to restore factory default settings. Click "cancel" to give up this restoring operation.

• Equipment

Displaying information relevant to the player: total numbers of repertoire, total numbers of videos, total numbers of pictures, total numbers of text files, total numbers of games, card memory surplus space/space amount, internal memory surplus space/space amount, external memory surplus space/space gross, firmware version, the owners.

• Options:

1）Selecting button sound: You can choose turn down / button sound1 / button sound 2 / button sound 3, default turn down.

2）Touch screen calibration: When the touch screen is not oriented accurately, calibrate it through this function.

After entering the machine use the finger to click the center of calibration sign ”+”.

3）Video output: Optional settings: OFF, PAL NTSC, and HDMI

TV output mode

In the main menu of the player, click on the remote control label to enter the TV output interface. You can switch between different TV output modes with supplied connector which connects your player with TV.

TV output

SONY 15 offer three ways of television output: ordinary AV output and hd output and HDMI output.

Ordinary AV output:

If you click PAL in the " TV set", then ordinary AV output is available. please connect one end of video connector (with three pins) to TV output interface of the player, and connect the other end(with green connector plug) to the AV IN video input area (generally the the color of the TV interface is yellow).
