CHAPTER 1
REQUIREMENTS
Introduction
Halcyon's Document Management System web-based graphical user interface (GUI) provides an easy way for staff to access or handle indexed spooled files, assign notes, apply print overlays and export data without the need for specialist skills or training. All documents can be viewed securely and remotely through a web browser. Using the appropriate security settings organizations have the option to allow their customers to carry out their own searches.
SQL Requirements and supported versions
This version of Document Management Suite requires SQL in order to store the system details used by the GUI. The following SQL versions are supported: ? SQL Server 2005 - 32bit/64bit ? SQL Server 2008 - 32bit/64bit ? SQL Server 2012 - 32bit/64bit ? SQL Server 2014 - 32bit/64bit For instructions on how to configure SQL for this product, please refer to the Halcyon manual Installing SQL Server Express Editions, available from halcyon which can be referenced for the configuration requirements when using a full version of SQL Server.

Minimum Hardware and Software Requirements
The following are the minimum specifications required for the installation and use of the Spooled File Manager Graphical User Interface (GUI).
System Requirements for Server Installation
Operating System:
? Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher
Prerequisite Software
Microsoft .Net Framework (v4.6 or higher)
In order to run Document Management System GUI .Net Framework v4.6 or higher must be installed on the server onto which the installation is being implemented. This can be downloaded from:
Microsoft SQL (one of)
? Microsoft SQL Server 2005 ? Microsoft SQL Server 2008 ? Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (Workgroup, Standard or Enterprise
Edition) ? Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express
Note:
Existing SQL Installations
If Microsoft SQL is already installed on a different server, then that can be used as the destination database server. Use one of the following: ? Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client ? Microsoft SQL Server Native Client (2005)
Adobe Acrobat
To view exported reports from within the web interface you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader v8.0 or above installed.
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
A general installation of IIS (V6 or higher) is required. This is normally undertaken by your network administrator or in-house system configuration specialist.
