Language Arts Activities

Print out the Snowman Alphabet Sheets and the "Brr" cards on cardstock and laminate. Put all of the cards facedown on the table. Each child draws a card. If the child correctly identifies the letter, he/she gets to keep the letter. If the child draws the "BRR" card they must put all of their letters back into the stack.

Winter Beginning Sounds Print out the winter beginning sounds sheet on cardstock and laminate. Have your child say the name of the object and identify the beginning sound. Write the letter beside the object in the box.

What I Wear In the Winter Booklet Print out the book. Have your child dictate the color words to fill in the blanks in the book. After filling in the color words (use a crayon in the appropriate color to write the word). Have your child illustrate each page. Read the book with your child.

Winter Scene Picture Look at the picture with your child. Have them dictate what they see in the picture and write the description. Read the sentences and have your child color the picture.

Let's Play In the Snow (rebus story) Read the story to your child. Reread the story and let your child fill in the words that go with the rebus pictures.

My Book of Winter Words Print out and read the book with your child. Have your child read the book to you. Let them color the pictures and help them assemble the book.



Math Activities

Finish the pattern sheet. Review the patterns with your child and then have them select the picture that completes the pattern. Glue the correct picture in place, then review the pattern with your child again.

Print out the snowman math mat on cardstock and laminate. Have your child put the corresponding number of cotton balls beside the snowman with the number.
