How to Use This Ministry Directory:

As you seek to grow in your spiritual journey, we encourage you to use this guide to find the right places for you to worship, connect, and serve. We believe that your spiritual growth can be accelerated by engaging in a combination of these three spiritual venues. First, we encourage you to participate in weekend worship services where you can be ushered into the presence of the Lord through corporate worship and relevant, engaging study of the Bible. Second, we encourage you to experience life with others in a church ministry, church Bible study, or community group where you can form deep and lasting friendships, grow in your walk with the Lord with others, and reach out to our surrounding community with friends. Third, we encourage you to use your God-given spiritual gifts, passions and interests, abilities, personality, and experience to make a positive, lasting impact in our church and city through a service opportunity. You will find ways to accomplish these objectives in a manner that fits your needs, interests, and schedule. Our objective is to walk alongside of you and your family to create an individualized and customized spiritual growth plan to help you fully encounter the power and love of Jesus in your life.

For assistance in your spiritual journey, please contact Pastor J.P. at 392-9061 or jpmertens@.

Men’s Ministry:

Leader: Rick Hatton 339-4214 rhatton@

The men’s ministry of Pike’s Peak Christian Church understands the critical role men play in the spiritual well-being of church and home. We want men to embrace the leadership position they have been called to, by strengthening their own walk with God, and humbly guiding their families into faith. No man can be expected to stand alone in this calling, so we draw men together for discipleship and fellowship, so they may be sharpened and strengthened in the Spirit.

2012 Scripture: “No one can serve two masters.” Matthew 6:24

High Quest Groups:

Leader: Rick Hatton (rhatton@)

Time/Place: TBA & Depends on Availability

Equipping men to walk with God for a lifetime

The High Quest Discipleship Series is a discipleship training platform and pathway that integrates personal reflection on the Scripture and a small group experience.

The major themes (tracks) of the High Quest Series are:

Know Christ Deeply

Reflect Christ Authentically

Share Christ Intentionally

These three themes represent the essential life-long pursuits of a follower of Christ. They represent our vertical relationship with God, our inner relationship with ourselves and our outward relationship with those both inside and outside the Kingdom. Discipleship is a direction rather than a destination. These three pursuits establish the direction for a lifetime of following Christ.

C.C. Lewis was one of the greatest Christian writers of our age. His “Screwtape” Letters” still stirs considerable controversy. Lewis’ work has influenced three generations of Christian thinkers and will continue to be a seminal Christian work.

Dates: Tuesday mornings beginning January 17th

Times/Place: 9:00-11:00am at the church in the Peak View Room (PPCC)

Leader: Mally Whitley 392-3619 malley1921@

Time/Place: Tuesday mornings beginning January 17th at 9:00-11:00am in Peak View Room (PPCC)

The Book of Judges is the seventh book of the Old Testament. It contains the history of Biblical judges, divinely inspired prophets whose direct knowledge of God allows them to act as decision-makers for the Israelites, as military deliverers from oppression for foreign rulers, and models of the proper behavior required of them by their god Yahweh following the exodus from Egypt and conquest of Canaan. The events of Judges takes place "between c. 1380 and the rise of Saul, c. 1050."

History of the Hymns:

Leader: Vicky Smith 287-1361 bobnvic50@

Time/Place: Tuesday mornings beginning January 17th at 9:00-11:00am at Peak View Room (PPCC)

We all love singing hymns, but where do they come from, and how did they become what we know today? The history of hymns predates the 19th-Century Father Faber by at least two thousand years. The word "hymn" comes from the Greek "hymnos" and this gives some indication as to the age of hymnody. They were originally songs written in honor of the Gods, leading figures and heroes

The chronology of Jesus aims to establish a historical order for some of the events of life of Jesus. The Christian gospels were primarily written as theological documents rather than historical chronicles and their authors showed little interest in an absolute chronology of Jesus. However, it is possible to correlate the New Testament with non-Christian sources to estimate specific date ranges for the major events in Jesus’ life.
