WINTER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 5:00?8:00 P.M.
COMMEMORATING 30 YEARS OF THE JENSEN ARCTIC COLLECTION
Light up the darkest time of year at our annual winter solstice event. From crafts and face painting to Alaskan poets and traditional Inupiaq dancing, there's something for everyone at this Arctic-themed celebration of winter! General admission, $5. Admission is free with a nonperishable food donation (per person) to FOOD for Lane County. Museum memberships make the perfect gift. Purchase a new membership for half-price during the solstice celebration!

FEBRUARY FAMILY DAY
MYSTERIES OF THE DEEP
Saturday, February 20, 11:00 a.m.?4:00 p.m.
From ancient buzz saw sharks to giant sabertooth salmon, Pacific Northwest waters have been home to mysterious animals for millions of years. Bring the family, explore our Buzz Saw Sharks of Long Ago exhibit, and dive into the deep past with with a variety of fun activities! Admission is $10 per family (up to two adults and four children) and free for MNCH members.
Little Wonders
Stories and Activities for Preschoolers ? Second Friday of the Month, 10:30 a.m.
Learn and play! You and your child are invited to join us for stories, crafts, museum exploration, and more. Admission is $5 per family (up to two adults and two children) and free for museum members.

Arctic Animals Learn about animals that live near the North Pole-- like Arctic foxes, Kodiak bears, and snowy owls.

Animal Tracks What can footprints tell us about animals? Explore different animal tracks, and make some of your own to take home.

Is That My Shadow? Learn about groundhogs, shadows, and the special day that celebrates them both.

Featuring the Art of Ray Troll and Friends
Dive into the deep past and unravel the mystery of the buzz saw shark! Fun for the whole family, the exhibit combines original art, spectacular fossils, and a good dose of scientific humor to shed light on this freaky and fascinating fish.

Discover the giant sabertooth salmon and other amazing animals from Oregon's past, and take part in a discussion about climate, conservation, and our future.
Get Ready for Big Changes in 2016!
This January, we begin construction on Oregon--Where Past Is Present and the surrounding exhibit spaces in the museum's south wing. The undertaking will bring new interactive displays, fresh content, and other exciting updates to the 10-year-old hall--plus a brand new exhibition featuring Oregon's Paisley Caves. Get ready for a richer, more dynamic experience of Oregon's heritage . . . and in the meantime, please excuse our dust!
