What You'll Need

Any wide-mouthed jar, clean and dry Sandpaper Assorted plastic trinkets, trees, flowers, and decorations Assorted pebbles Hot glue and glue gun Optional: a laminated photo of your child Distilled water White and silver glitter Glycerine, available in the baking section of your grocery store Optional: Clear caulk

How To Make It

1. Sand the inside of the jar lid until the surface is rough. 2. Have a grown-up affix your decorations to the inside of the lid with a hot glue gun, and weigh them down with pebbles. (Optional: insert a laminated photo of your child front and center.) Allow to dry.

3. Fill the jar with distilled water, leaving room at the top for shaking.

4. Add a pinch of glitter and about a teaspoon of glycerine (this helps the glitter from falling too quickly). Be careful not to add too much glitter because it might stick to the bottom of the jar when you flip it over.

5. Screw on the lid tightly and carefully so that your decorations don't fall off. 6. To create a stronger seal (that resembles icicles!), have a grown-up pipe clear caulk around the edge of the lid.
