Dear Seniors, Juniors, Parents and Guardians:

Winter Wonderland will be held at Garden City High School on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. in the cafeteria. I expect this traditional event to continue in an environment that is safe and appropriate.

Please be advised of the rules for Winter Wonderland:

Seniors and juniors need an approved contract to purchase tickets. Contracts must be signed by parents and will be approved by an administrator at the time of ticket sales.

Seniors and juniors who wish to attend must be in good standing.

Seniors and juniors will be able to purchase tickets for themselves and their guest with approved contracts from December 1 ? December 5 during lunch periods only.

The cost per ticket will be $20.

The size of the event will be limited to 350 students.

Sophomores and freshmen will not be allowed to purchase tickets but may be permitted to attend as guests with approved contracts. These students must be in good standing.

Non GCHS students may be permitted to attend with a signed and approved contract and a copy of their photo I.D. Guests must be current high school students.

Students will not be allowed to arrive or depart school premises by limousine or party bus. Individuals who have a senior license to drive will be able to bring their cars to school.

The dance will last from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The doors will close at 7:30 p.m. and no one will be allowed to leave until 9:30 p.m. (Exceptions will be made for students arriving late as a result of an athletic contest or other similar school activity.) (over)

 Each person attending the dance will have to sign and return the enclosed contract before tickets are purchased. Under no circumstances will tickets be sold at the door.

It is my expectation that this event will be a success. Everyone's cooperation with these procedures will ensure such an outcome. For these reasons, the following procedures will be followed:

No bags or backpacks are permitted. All belongings and persons are subject to search upon entry.

All food and beverages will be provided by the school. Students will not be permitted to bring in water bottles or drinking containers of any kind.

All students will enter the building through the Social Studies entrance only. There will be two check-in stations:

o Check and search through the Social Studies entrance o Attendance and ticket check before entrance into the cafeteria

A student who misses classes on December 12 will be unable to participate in Winter Wonderland.

Winter Wonderland is a school sponsored event and the use or possession of alcohol and/or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. This rule includes not arriving at the school under the influence of alcohol and/or illegal drugs.

If medical attention is required, your child will be evaluated by the nurse on duty. If the nurse deems it appropriate, an ambulance will be called.

Please note that anyone who violates the above will have his or her parents notified, will be sent home and is subject to further disciplinary action at our school that could include, but is not limited to, the following:

(1) A five-day out of school suspension; (2) Exclusion from athletic or club activities as a participant or spectator; (3) Ineligibility to attend the 12th Grade party in March; (4) Ineligibility to attend Spring Fling (Freshmen/Sophomores only)
