Comedy Fu, led by Move Performing Arts, is one of dozens of special interest classes offered to Summerlin residents by The Summerlin Council at the Trails, Willows, Gardens and Vistas Community Centers. From hip hop, fencing and martial arts to sewing, Tech 4 Tots and Spanish language for children, a variety of programs are offered to Summerlin members of all ages and interests. Snow Day

Saturday, January 27, 1 ? 5 p.m. Arbors Park

This January, a blizzard is scheduled to hit Summerlin! Residents are invited to watch The Arbors Tennis and Play Park transform into a winter wonderland at the annual Summerlin resident Snow Day taking place January 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. You and your family are sure to enjoy a fun-filled day of snow, cookies and sledding! Hot cocoa and water are available to purchase for $1 each. Plastic saucers will be provided for participants as personal sleds are not permitted. Sledding passes are required and are currently on sale for $7 each at the Gardens, Trails, Willows and Vistas Community Centers. Day-of event passes will be sold for $10 each at The Arbors Tennis and Play Park beginning at 12 p.m. (Proof of residency is required.) A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare's luxurious comedic tale of fairies, dreams and moonlight, is sure to make you laugh. It is still true that "the course of true love never did run smooth," and when the feuding king and queen of the fairies interfere in the couplings of mortals, the result is pure pandemonium and magical mayhem. This is a production you won't want to miss! Join Comedy Fu on their journey through the moonlight and magic spells. Tickets may be purchased for $5 per person at the Vistas and Trails Community Centers. (Children ages two and younger are free.) Day-of tickets will be sold for $7 each if available.

Mad Hatter Tea Party

Don't be late, don't be late, for this very important date! Join us for Summerlin's Mad Hatter Tea Party taking place Friday, February 23 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Gardens Community Center. Participants will experience face painting, storytelling and, of course, a madcap tea with Alice, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter and friends. Admission is $15 per person and registration begins February 1. Due to the expected popularity and limited seating for this event, it's recommended to register early. Prom Dress Drive

March 1 ? 10 Trails, Willows, Gardens and Vistas Community Centers

Do you have a prom dress or suit you no longer need? Don't let it sit in the back of your closet collecting dust. Donate it instead! The Summerlin Council is partnering with Project 150 this prom season to collect new or gently used formal prom attire and accessories for disadvantaged or homeless high school age students. Donations will be accepted March 1 ? 10 and can be dropped off at the Trails, Willows, Gardens and Vistas Community Centers. The following items are currently being accepted: new or gently used formal dresses, suits, shoes, ties, purses, accessories, make-up, hair products, shaving kits, shoe polish, as well as gift certificates for restaurants, limos, flowers, dry cleaners, and prom attire rentals. Project 150 is a non-profit organization serving more than 2,500 students from 49 school sites in Nevada with food, clothing, school supplies, hygiene items, shoes, and special requests. Summerlin residents are invited to The Trails Park Ball Fields on March 24 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. for the annual Summerlin Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza. Egg Hunt will give your little ones an opportunity to scurry around The Trails Park in search of goodies, games and prizes that are sure to get things hopping for the entire family this spring. In addition, there will be visits by some very special guests. Everyone is sure to have an eggstra-special time. Egg Hunt passes may be purchased in advance for $5 each starting March 5. Day-of passes are $8 each and may be purchased starting at 9 a.m. at The Trails Community Center. Proof of residency is required. For more information, please call 702-341-5500.

Swim Lesson Sign-Up Day

Saturday, April 7, 9 a.m. Willows Community Center

The Summerlin Council will offer a variety of swim classes this summer for Summerlin children ages three years and older. Qualified instructors from Aquatic Services provide lessons that include learning fundamentals and enhancing skills for your children. Swim lesson sign-ups for the Trails, Willows and Vistas Pools are scheduled for Saturday, April 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Willows Community Center, located at 2775 Desert Marigold Lane. Classes are $65 for level one and $70 for levels two through six. Registration takes place on an on-going basis thereafter as space permits at the Trails, Willows, Gardens and Vistas Community Centers.

Swim Team Sign-Up Day

Saturday, April 28, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Trails Community Center

Summerlin children ages five to 18 years old are invited to join the Summerlin Seals Swim Team. Participants will have fun meeting neighbors, developing team spirit and competing against other teams in the community. Swim team sign-ups are scheduled for Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Trails Community Center. Registration is $155 per team member and includes league fees. Summerlin residents are invited to celebrate the strawberry season at the Summerlin Strawberry Festival and Farmers Market on Thursday, May 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. Eat it. Drink it. Bake it. Toss it. Roll it. Run with it. Sing about it. You name it, we will do it...all with strawberries in mind! There will be various contests each with a strawberry theme, including a strawberry toss, shortcake eating challenge, and a relay race. Attendees will also enjoy a bounce house, face painter, and lively tunes that are sure to get you dancing to a strawberry-beat.
