09525Happy December Ladybug families! A huge thank you to all who participated in our Harvest Gathering. We really appreciate all your help. We hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones. We will end 2018 with many fun activities as our theme will be “Explore”. We will go on a safari, take a trip to outer space, visit the Rainforest and explore ?the Ocean! Our letters this month will be R, L, C, J, and F. We will work on numbers 11-15. Our shape will be square and the color is white.Our character education will focus on Generosity- Generosity is the act of giving or sharing what you have with others. It is not just about tangible objects, like toys. People can also be generous with their time and attention. Giving is a selfless act that benefits others and makes us feel really good about ourselves. This month we will be working on Generosity throughout the center by participating in a Toy Drive and a Food Drive. I also wanted to note that we will be open NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS Monday December 24th (Christmas eve) but we will be CLOSED the following day on Tuesday December 25 for Christmas Day. We appreciate every one of our families. This month we have a party day where we watch the Polar Express, wear our PJs and have a book exchange. Please keep an eye out for instructions on that later. This month is “Giving and Sharing” and our value is generosity. During this month we will experience cultural and traditional celebrations around the world. These traditions include Christmas, Hanukkah, First Day of Winter, Kwanza and New Years! Our letters are T & B. Colors: red and green. Shapes: Star and diamond. Numbers 1-10 in Spanish and English. Hello Everyone, welcome to the month of December. This year has gone by so fast, but it’s not over yet. We have a lot of stuff to go over for this lovely month. The unit for this month is “On the Go”. Our themes are “In the Air”, “In the Water”, and “In Space”. Our color is red and our shape is star. The letters are Cc and Jj and the numbers are 61-70. This month we are focusing on Generosity for our character education. Generosity is the act of giving as well as thinking about others’ needs before our own. This month’s birthday and star students are Maya, December 2nd, Will, December 24th, and Mason, December 31st. I can’t forget our Polar Express P.J. party happening on December 14. We will have hot chocolate and popcorn while we watch the fantastical movie Polar Express. The children are excited for all of the fun Holiday activities we will be working on. We will be working on our regular activities and also special holiday activities also! Please continue to have your child practice writing and holding a pencil.I cannot stress using a pencil and practicing writing . Please continue your efforts with reading and writing. Thanks again to all of you who are supplementing with doing your homework.Our Sharks class will be busy working on Winter, ?and Physical Science. During the third week of December we will be focusing on December celebrations of Hanukkah , Kwanza and Christmas ( there will be no home work this week). We will be working on the letters J and F. We will be reviewing numbers and working on addition. We will look at the shapes heart and diamond . We will review colors, green and orange. And our spelling words for, on, to, have, he and she.Our Character Education for the month of December is Generosity. Generosity and sharing is difficult for concrete learners in the early years. We will identify opportunities during the day when children can practice giving, materials or attention. We will focus on the good feelings that generosity produces. This month’s star students are Chyla and Dominic who are both great examples of generosity. Also we will celebrate birthdays with Aria on 12/7, Bethany 12/14, Caleb 12/19 and Isaura on 12/22. This month is full of wonderful adventures, first we have our Polar Express Adventure on December 14th! And then for December 7 is movie night please see Ms. Mel or Ms. Kelly if you are interested in attending. Then Lastly, the center will be closed December 25th for the Christmas Holiday and the Sharks class will be meeting with Ladybugs and Dolphins December 21- January 4 while school agers are here for Christmas break.
