Find and Replace Dialog Box

Search for and replace all times a word or sentence appears in the document.

Find (shortcut Ctrl + F)

1. On the Home tab. Go to the Editing group and click Find.

2. In the Find what box, enter the text you want to search for.

3. Click Find Next and it will bring you to the next occurrence of the word.

Replace (shortcut Ctrl + H)

1. In the Editing group, click Replace.

2. In the Find what box, enter the text you want to search for.

3. In the Replace with box, enter the replacement text.

4. Click Find Next, Replace, or Replace All. [pic]

|Find What |Identifies the text to be replaced |

|Replace With |Identifies the text to use as a replacement |

|More |Click to display additional find and replace options |

|Search |specifies the direction of the search from the current position of the insertion point: Down, |

|Match Case |Locates only text with uppercase and lowercase letters that match exactly the entry in the Find |

|Sounds like |Locates words that sound like the text in the Find what box, but have different spellings |

|Find All Word Forms |Replaces all forms of a word. For example, specifying "find" in the Find what box locates |

| |"find," “finds," “found,” and “finding” and replaces each with the comparable form of the |

| |replacement word. |

|No Formatting |Removes any formatting specifications noted in the Find what or Replace with box |

|Format |Displays a list of formatting specifications to find and replace |

|Special |Allows you to search for and replace special characters, such as a tab character or a paragraph |
