Read this story to your child. Stop after reading every underlined word and ask if they can replace that silly word with a real English word that would make sense.
Once upon a time a little girl lived in the forest with her voomer.
• Ask, “What do you think voomer means?” Let them give you an answer. Accept any answer as long as it makes sense.
Sometimes the forest could be a cold place so her mother made her a choil cape with a choil hood.
• What do you think choil means? Accept any answer that makes sense.
Well this little girl loved to go through the forest to her grandmother’s house. One day her mother made some puckles for her grandmother and asked the little girl to take them to her.
• What do you think puckles are? Accept any answer that makes sense.
While on her way she was stopped by a wolf that really wanted her treats. This wolf hubbled the girl. She ran and ran as fast as she could all the way home. The next time she went out she was ready for the wolf. She planned on trocking him first.
