My plans for 2019 are attending university, working and travelling. In five years I would like to be finishing a Law and Business degree. A memory of SIDE that I will take into my future is the people that I have met as part of the Elite Sports program. One piece of advice to succeed at SIDE is you need to be organised: set a schedule, plan out your work, know when things are due.

Amber Agnello

My plans for 2019 are to continue my Advanced Diploma in Commercial Dance at APAN and to start finding more jobs to get my name out there. In five years I would like to be living my dream of becoming a professional dancer by hopefully moving interstate or overseas and becoming a backup dancer or working in films as a dancer or actress. A memory of SIDE that I will take into my future is meeting lifelong friends that will stay with me for a long time. One piece of advice to succeed at SIDE is to make sure that you are driven and always ahead on your school work.

Kloe Ams

I am located in Port Hedland, Western Australia. My personal interests are photography, film and art. Each of these are my passion. Three words that describe me are kind, unique and caring. In 2019 I plan to do an online professional photography TAFE course and find a job I love doing. In five years I would like to be a film editor, photographer or an artist. A memory of SIDE that I will take into my future is the time I went into SIDE to meet a few of my teachers in year 11. This year my Work Placement teacher Shane Murray came to my house and we sat down for lunch before we went off to the library where I did placement at the time. He also helped me start doing volunteer work at Spinifex Hill Studio. My piece of advice would be to listen and interact during each lesson. This is the best time to ask questions, take notes and get to know other students. The last piece of advice is to make sure your work is complete and handed in on time; it will take the pressure off and please your teachers.

Dante Phyllis Ashton-Harrison

I am all over the place - a traveller with the Circus.

My personal interests are performing, reading and training.

Three words that describe me are ambitious, outgoing and hardworking.

My plans for 2019 are travelling/working! Hopefully working overseas.

In five years I would like to be happy and content with what I have achieved. I want to be at university studying Marine Biology or working on cruise ships.

A memory of SIDE that I will take into my future is my Mondays at SIDE, throughout years 9 to 11, I visited SIDE every Monday. I would sit in that library at the same desk and wait patiently for my teachers to come and visit me. I would roam up and down those bookshelves looking at each book, trying to find one I hadn't read. I remember so many happy times in that Library, from chatting with the teacher librarians to calling the IT guy down to fix my computer because Moodle wasn't working. All these little things contribute to what SIDE is and always will be for me. It was a place I honestly loved. I would walk down that brick paved path into reception, grab my name tag and look forward to seeing familiar faces. It wasn't just school to me, it was a place where I felt welcome and where my ideas were taken into consideration, where my teachers from grade 7 or 8 would still recognise me and come over and say hi. I will always remember my Mondays at SIDE; they were the best days and I am forever thankful for the memories.

My advice would be to always keep in contact with your teachers! You have to remember that you should be proud of anything you do. If you weren't happy with a mark still be happy you did it; be proud of your work! At the end of the day it is just a number and if your happy with what you have submitted then don't be upset over it; think of ways you could have improved, move on and start your next task!

Oh, and don't fall behind! It is the worst feeling not being able to contribute in Saba because you haven't done your readings!

Tarik Basic

I am located in Perth, Western Australia.

My personal interests are playing tennis, travelling, listening to music, going to the beach.

Studying through SIDE has been both very challenging and rewarding. The program has taught me valuable time and self-management skills that I would not have learnt to the same degree had I attended `normal' high school. The program was much harder than regular school, but the benefits were much greater as I got to continue with my competitive tennis and still obtain academic results.
