The University of Texas at El Paso - UTEP

1799590000Dialogues in Leadership (DiL), is an asset-based approach to leadership designed to create a vibrant community of practice engaged in discussions around the strengths, stories, and skills that are shared and valued within the faculty and staff of a Hispanic serving, 21st century university. As UTEP continues to be a model for student success in the increasingly complex landscape of higher education, we must also sustain and enhance support for faculty and staff success by advancing our one-team approach and our commitment to professional development. This series, limited to a cohort of 20 faculty and staff, will emphasize the reality that on our campus each of us is a leader, whether in the classroom, in our departments, or as an ambassador for the university. As leaders, we must understand our shared purpose of changing lives through education, beginning with an appreciation of our own paths.DiL sessions will consist of campus and community leaders sharing their stories and engaging in conversation about how they developed their own assets and leadership strengths. There will also be skill building workshops and opportunities for networking within the DiL community. Members of the DiL cohort will develop their own story through dialogue, interviews, and written work.
