DESCRIPTION

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Benefit Analyst is the primary support for the Manager, Benefits, and is responsible for providing day-to-day administration of corporate health and welfare plans for 1,400+ associates in multiple states.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serves as the expert and point of contact for associates, assisting with online benefits enrollment and changes, claims issues and questions regarding benefits

• Designs and delivers biweekly new associate benefit orientations to all associates across the organization

• Assists with annual Open Enrollment activities and audits, and reviews materials to ensure accuracy

• Maintains employee benefit updates in various vendor sites and verifies existing interfaces are accurate

• Processes weekly and monthly insurance billings for all benefit plans

• Attends annual benefit renewal meetings with Benefit Broker, participates in review and analysis of benefit offerings, and supports development of recommendations and presentation to senior management

• Manages COBRA coverage with outside vendor and coordinates related termination communications

• Coordinates tracking and dissemination of paperwork for company approved leaves (includes FMLA and ADA) and workers’ compensation claims

• Enters and maintains timely, accurate information in the HRIS, including new associate information and changes to current records

• Identifies process improvement opportunities for workflows

• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred

• A minimum of four years benefit program experience

• A proven understanding of FMLA and ADA administration; prefer three years administration experience

• A working knowledge of workers’ compensation; prefer two years administration and audit experience

• Committed to delivering a high level of customer service

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

• Ability to demonstrate self-sufficiency with accessing, processing and interpreting information

• A high level of computer literacy, including expert knowledge of Excel and proficiency in HRIS systems

• Strong attention to details and excellent organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple high priority assignments concurrently and a commitment to teamwork and collaboration

• Educated on employment law, or willingness to learn

• Limited domestic travel may be required
