|SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES |  |

A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties within the Behavioral Health Department of the medical practice. Involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Licensed Clinical Therapists and Social Workers with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical service.

• Coordinate and schedule all new psychiatric appointments

• Provide triage and assessment for all routine Behavioral Health referrals leading to initial phone intake.

• Complete initial phone intake; Assessment interview with all new psychiatric patients.

• Provide triage and safety assessment for all urgent phone calls and urgent referrals.

• Provide support for administered intake questionnaire for all new psychiatric patients onsite, at first appointment.

• Provide feedback to the identified primary care physician and primary care team, regarding all plans outcomes dispositions on any identified or shared patients.

• Remain in continuous daily contact and communication with Behavioral Health Director or covering director regarding all new and ongoing clinical issues.

• Review all new intakes and referrals with director or covering director on a daily basis.

• Directly communicate with all Behavioral Health community resources, manage referrals and referral network.

• Provide all care coordination/care management for all new and existing Behavioral Health patients.

• Manage and disposition of all routine patient phone calls, portal inquiries, etc.

• Manage all email and Electronic Medical Record communication regarding Behavioral Health Team clinical issues.

• Assist in onboarding new Behavioral Health Clinical personnel.

• Assist in establishing and maintaining Behavioral Health systems and directives.

• Assist in analysis of statistical data gathered.

SENTIAL DUTIEES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

|EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS |  |

High school diploma~ or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for medical assistant exam preferred. Certified medical assistant certification preferred.

|EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS |  |

Documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office or facility.

Current documentation of a national certification for the registered medical assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or for the certified medical assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), is required. Must possess current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).

1-2 years working in a Behavioral Health setting preferred.

Current documentation of a national certification for the registered medical assistant

|PHYSICAL DEMANDS |  |

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with stepping on the scale and exam table. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies. Occasional stress from dealing with many staff and patients.
