Major Events of World War I

Timeline Assignment

Place the following important events on a properly constructed timeline of World War One. Your completed timeline must contain an appropriate title and scale. Each event must be accompanied by a clear and precise summary and, where applicable, a description of Canada’s role. You may use the textbook or internet sources to find your information (there are some helpful links below). Be sure to summarize your findings in your own words – DO NOT simply cut and paste information! Add pictures, graphics and/or other visual aids to enhance your timeline.

1. August 22, 1914: War Measures Act

2. September 5–12, 1914: First Battle of the Marne
