Rifle & Pistol Match At Gateway Rifle & Pistol Club

August 30th. 2014

Open to all North Florida Arms Collector Association and Gateway Rifle & Pistol Club members

Location: Gateway Rifle & Pistol Club, 9301 Zambito Rd. North, Jacksonville FL.

Match Time & Fee's:

Rifle: Registration will be at the Gateway Member's High-Power 200 yard Rifle Range.

Registration starts at 7:30am – Shooting will commence at 8:30 following the safety briefing.

Pistol: Registration will be at the 50 yard Bullseye pistol range.

Registration starts at 11:30 am – Shooting will commence at 12:00 following the safety briefing.

Match Fee: $10 per relay, includes a cap (first relay only) as supplies last

additional relays may be fired once everyone has had a chance to shoot one relay.

Safety: There will be no handling of firearms when the firing line is called cold

EIC's (Empty Chamber Indicators) are required in the firearms anytime they

are uncased, unless you are on the firing line and the line is called HOT.

Rifles & Pistols may be brought to the firing line at anytime as long as they are cased,

uncased firearms must remain in your vehicle until the firing line is in a hot status.

Allowed Rifle & Pistol types:

Any World War One - US or Foreign Military Rifle or Pistol

Examples: Rifle: 1903 Springfields, Model 1917, Lee Enfield, Japanese Arisaka, etc

Pistol: Colt 1911, Colt 1917, Luger P-08, Mauser C96 Broomhandle, Japanese Nambu, etc

Classes: There will be two types of rifle and pistol classes, all open sights

1: As-Issued – no modifications allowed.

2: Modified Rifle – Sporterized, or any other changes from original issue

3: Modified 1911 - Later models of the 1911 pistol, ex. 1911A1

or similar 1911 models from other countries

Courses of Fire: Designed to simulate combat fire

Rifle Course: At 200 yards - 5 minutes for unlimited sighters, then 10 shots single load/slow fire.

At the “Cease Fire” command, this and any other time, all rifles will be grounded with ECI's in.

Shooting will be done on the command “Fire” with a 20 second limit

per shot, firing will stop after each shot at the “Cease Fire” command, followed

by a 20 second delay where the rifles must be removed from the shoulder,

on the next “Fire” command the shooter will take his next shot. Continuing until all 10 shots are taken.

This will be done for two matches, one will simulate 300 yards and the other will simulate 600 yards

Match three will be the aggregate of matches one & two.

The winner will be the shooter with the highest aggregate score

Pistol Course: At 15 yards - 5 minutes for unlimited sighters.

At the “Cease Fire” command, this and any other time, all pistols will be benched with ECI's in.

Match One will be 10 shots slowfire from a magazine loaded with 5 rounds.

Firing will be the same course of fire format as the rifle single load fire.

Match Two – 2 strings of 5 shots rapid fire in a 15 second time limit per string.

Match Three – will be the aggregate of matches one & two.

The winner will be the shooter with the highest aggregate score.

Scoring: Scoring will be conducted using the NRA scoring system with X count breaking ties.

Competitors will score each other, you will exchange score cards with the competitor next to you.

Awards: Winner of “As-Issued” Rifle match or Pistol match – 1yr. NFACA membership & Special Hat

Winner of the Modified Rifle match or Pistol match – Numrich Catalog

Special Prize Hat for the winner of the combined “As-Issued” Rifle & Pistol matches

Award will be presented follow the Rifle match and following the Pistol match
