The world's worst jobs

People love to complain about their work. Perhaps you're fed up with your boss, early morning starts, endless paperwork or doing overtime? Well, take heart! Your job can't be as bad as some of these. Applications must be flooding in for these beauties.

A dog-food mixer This job involves working the machine that automatically mixes ingredients to make the dough that is used in producing dried dog biscuits.

An embalmer This one requires you to be a real people person. Embalmers are responsible for ensuring that corpses look their best for their funerals. They wash and clothe the body, conceal any visible wounds, style the hair and apply make-up before the body is displayed in an open casket for the funeral.

A shuttlecock-feather trimmer This occupation involves the precise cutting of excess plastic from badminton shuttlecocks to ensure a smooth flight through the air. The moulding process makes the edges of shuttlecocks ragged and uneven. But thanks to shuttlecock-feather trimmers, this problem is only temporary.

A de-hairing machine assistant This lucky person is responsible for tending the equipment that removes the hair from pig carcasses before they are sent to the butcher for preparation as meat products.

An incendiary-powder mixer This job is all about weighing and mixing various powdered chemicals for use in making fireworks. A delicate balance of explosive ingredients is needed to create pyrotechnics. This job provides a great incentive for workers to get it right ? they get to keep their hands!

So, all you workers out there ? every now and then, try to remind yourself of these jobs, and be grateful for yours. However bad you reckon you've got it, remember, things could be worse ? a lot worse!
